Good day to all.
For those of you who know myself and Lady Tia, you will know that above all else we strive to maintain the highest ethical standards in game. As such, we regretfully are making the following temporary changes to the way we do auctions:
We will not accept the following items until further notice:
*Runics of any kind
*Tokens of any kind
*True rares will be handled on a case by case basis
We will only accept auction items from people who have a history of trading with us and who we are to some extent hold accountable for things submitted to us.
We do this for two reasons. First reason, of course, is to protect ourselves as a "virtual business" from any unintentional wrongdoing. The second, but just as important reason, is so that the people who frequent our auction can be safe in knowing that we are not selling items of a questionable nature. We have always drawn great pleasure from running our auction. And since we want to continue doing this without any added stress, we feel these changes are necessary. This is not permanent. We have faith that Mythic will fix the ongoing issue, and when I have witnessed this, then these restrictions will be lifted.
These are the thoughts and feelings of two long time veteran UO players and UO auctioneers. I urge the other auctions to evaluate the standards to which they adhere, and maybe we can continue to offer a trustworthy way for players to buy and sell in game items.
Yours Truly,
Shamus Turlough A.K.A. John Deere of BEC Auctions, Inc.
