I'm wondering if someone out there can tell me how to get my beard color to be the same as my hair?

Someone told me a long long time ago, but the specifics seem to escape me.

dye your hair, then go to a babrber npc, have him remove your beard, then buy a new beard. It will come out the same as your hair.
