* Be prepared to be trapped for a little while
* Be prepared to fight
* Be prepared to choose your loyalties

A thread for speculation as to what this "choose your loyalties" line means ... because I'm drawing a blank for ideas.

I would like to know how long a little while is to be trapped? Nothing like feeling trapped someplace and suddenly having to log out not knowing what will happen.

I got my share in magincia, didnt destroy anything, just picked up what was there. So the gut says save the world...

But if anything is laying around loose, all bets are off!

My guess is that people will once again get to choose whether they want to turn in black rock for a reward. Perhaps we will also soon see offers of rewards for turning in items obtained from killing the ophidians. However, in order for this to be a test of loyalty, there has to be someone else dangling the possibility of better rewards for not turning in items or turning them over to someone else.

I wasn't around for Magincia, but I was afraid that's exactly what it would become (given the state of the city, I think it's a bit overly kind to see the invasion declared defeated on the majority of shards).

It might be something like that ... or it might be something more direct. Even remembering a few spoilers from the stress test, my intuition is just completely failing me as to what loyalties we are going to choosing between.

Blackrock turn-in could be an interesting choice ... that would suit me sense of closure on the Haven event

That's a good point, perhaps we will be asked to turn in our blackrock.

I was wondering the same thing myself about choosing loyalties. It almost reminding me of the vampire wars on the Shard of the Dead the haloween before last. We chose sides in that war too. I was wondering if it weren't something similar.

Or perhaps there are 2 sides or 2 different groups to fight. I have been racking my brain trying to remember what was there during the stress testing, but I just can't remember. Ton's of people, tons of lag, and being teleported away a few times.

Loyalties.... hmmmm

Even "clear cut" choices become muddled &gt;here&lt; ... nes pas ?

even IF the scenario "script" were to be laid out in detail ...(read the outcome first)

everyone continually forgets about my nemisis.... the Evil Lord RNG ...

"I" can be clear cut ... as far as MY "loyalities" ... course ... I've practiced

over many many years.


FEW here on the forums ... seem to know ... day to day ... what "loyal" means

trolls proceed in their "confusion" of innate versus reasoned ...

*shrugs*

We shall see what the next few weeks bring ...

I'm going to assume that there would be a direct warning if this event was going to include forced PvP content.

when the dark strangers appeared in Haven I did not turn in my blackrock ~~ many posts from those who chose not to, after the strangers disappeared, wanting to know what the reward was for having chosen the side of light ~~ turns out, there was none ~~ for myself, I've not regretted that decision.. yet

will the same people hang on tightly to their dark stones again? looks to be a fun evening </font>

Oh that isn't what I meant, I didn't mean pvp. In the vampire wars you choose what side to fight on. I was thinking more on the lines of 2 groups of monsters or whatever to fight. You choose your sides by choosing which to attack maybe. Shadowlords and blackrock insane mages maybe.

Like in Magencia we were told to either save the city or destroy it, and we destroyed it.

Fayled is a genius !!!! I have always loved reading his posts even before I understood them.
He is our u.hall guide, he can find information faster than anyone, he explains things that don't make sense. He makes me laugh, and he makes me look at things from a different point of view. If he accepted pm's he would have been told this a long time ago.

Moonglow will be destroyed. Every few months a different city will be destroyed, until NONE are left, and then UO-2, " code name WarHammer", starts. Weeee

Fayled always has good posts... just have to know how to read them... usually has good insight, information, and links...

As for my loyalties... well that depends on what character I bring... hero or villian


Once again I think it may be a test of "Will you turn things in even if it means the destruction of a town"... if that is the case... considering the past... well... Moonglow was a nice town

all forced pvp content EVER accomplishes is reward people for cheating.
