Barbed kits...Where to start?

After my 6 year break all this new stuff about imbuing and reforging has made my head hurt. I have 15 barbed kits and have no clue on how to use them... In 2008 you just burnt them with barbed leather..that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Where does one start now? How can I craft great armor since it's not click and cross your fingers anymore! Thanks for reading..

P.S.- I just got imbuing to 120 today since I know that's a must...

One can modify weapons and armor using either imbue or reforge. Reforge is done using "runic kits". One important fact about reforging is that the item must be crafted from the most basic material. For blacksmithing (iron ore) For tailoring (plain leather) For carpentry (plain wood).....once you have your items crafted from the basic materials you are ready to begin reforge process. There is alot of good information on Stratics about the reforge process and what the "names" mean. Good Luck!!

I would recommend copying a char to test center first and playing about there if you are new to reforging. You don't want to waste kits as its eats them up in no time. Check out the threads about it in the data chest section.
