I know this'll probably never happen with the move to a chequeless system, but it would be really useful if payments for vendor items could be taken directly from cheques already present in the bank, rather than using up the gold as well. I hate having to search through a bag of cheques just to find the one for 5000gp or whatever because I bought something and didn't have enough in gold form to cover it.

yea its extremely annoying that the gold is consumed first, making you have to constantly get cash into your bank so you can pay stables. You should post in bug reports forum though, so a dev reads it.

In the EC you can click "list view" for your containers (bank, chests, bags, etc.). While in list view it shows you the balance of each check. This takes only a second to tell what checks are partial etc.
