If I am not mistaken, by what what cal said, the issue is only affecting Oceania but it seems like an issue with the pipeline so it could eventually affect other shards. Also he said something about fixing another issue with the ociania area players, something about making it better for them to play, I forget the exact words.

BUT Otis..."everyone" doesn't play a roll in this fix, so...I don't see how the one could take away from the other. That would be like saying Grimm cant draw something because the database that holds the co-owner list is broken(annoyed about this atm so mind as well plug it).

Now is a good time to mark runes in and out of towns. Roam around look for places of advantage. Pinch points or spots you think will be 'safe'.
I'm partial to rooftops. I haven't heard anyone state recall ability is turned off.

I went and inquired with Origin's town criers. Apparently Vesper fell to the Bane and there are Bane Guards there while Skara Brae fought off the attack.

Skara Brae infested on Legends. Took a while to down a Guard, was a Tamer/GD, archer, and a necro-mage. No drop.

A few generic hound masters and stuff running around Atlantic Trinsic. The handful of people there at 12:45pm on a lazy Sunday afternoon have them more or less exterminated.

This better ramp up hard or it's a total non-event.

At least there are forces of good for me to murder. Wish they had gold or something.

This seems to be the way they are warning players of an invasion. I'm sure it will ramp up.

Baja Trammel Skara Brae is occupied. Cove is clear, Vesper is clear.
The Skara gate area is for now a safe area. There are Named demons with the bone demon artwork. They have a blue hue. Flagged red like the other Bane forces. I just stealthed around a bit. as mentioned by others ev's and area spells are off.

I have checked only Cove on GL, as Cove is the only city advertised by the Cryers. I suppose I should check other cities given the imperfections of the Cryer system.

Fighting in Cove is extremely intense, fun but exhausting (at least for me). Lots of players, cooperating.

A conventional wisdom has emerged that the katanas are found on the bone demon guards, and the crystals on the Bane. (That, btw, includes the dragons and the hounds.) To my knowledge though no one's found one of the katanas yet. Nor any other special loot that might be out there.

I have yet to determine if there's a way to tell how well you're doing, other than that the Cryers will report if a city's "making headway" or "fallen."

The bone demon guards sport about 9k hp and appear to be more than 1 GD can handle. I dont know the specs of the 2 GD's that where engaged. The tanker was getting hammered and needed multiple healers to survive. Once close to death the bone demon teleported away into a thicker spawn area.
Man ya gotta love that.......

The Bane are attacking Skara Brae on Catskills. There doesn't seem to be any clear indicator of progress, at least when fighting on the side of the Bane Chosen. There are a bunch of spawn points of Meer, Ophidians, and Britannian Defenders, but when they're wiped out they just start respawning a few at a time. I didn't see any boss monsters, banners, or change in battle lines.

There is one special of loot I've seen. You can find Spell Focusing Sashes on the corpses of Meer and Ophidians. I haven't noticed any on the Britannians, but they might just have been hidden under all the platemail they drop. They look like normal un-dyed sashes, with the following stats:

Spell Focusing
Brittle
Mana Increase 1
Defense Chance Increase 5%
Durability 255/255

The way they seem to work is to increase the spell damage you do to one single opponent, with each spell you cast on them. So the first spell does normal damage, the second does +5%, the third +10%, etc. I'm pulling these numbers out of thin air; the actual increase and progression might be way off.

Every time you target a new creature with a damaging spell, the message "You begin tuning your spells to your opponent" appears, and you lose your damage bonus against the previous critter. When using Meteor Swarm against a pair of ophidians, the message showed up twice per cast, and I didn't seem to build up a damage bonus against either of them.

Also, this message only comes up with Magery and Mysticism spells. Necromancy and Spellweaving appear to be exempt.
