Bane Dragon Weirdness

Here's what happened this morning...

I have now tamed a whole lot of Bane's.

I was taming one with 648 hps. I know everyone is going to think it was blessed after I'm done, but I saw it spawn & it didn't see me. I was alone invisible. I beat it down and tamed it and the hps went down to 637, but the mana went up to 158?!? Its like 699 176 blessed or something. I don't have any idea wtf happened, but I like it.

Taming is very weird.

double check it after 10 mins or so. during the fight it often blesses itself and you can tell by the barding difficulty going up during the taming effort.

You can curse them during the effort to drop that barding difficulty/taming difficulty down some. I'd suggest waiting till ti wears off before stabling just in case the stable/stat bug is still alive and kicking.

count your blessing and stable it hehe wish it was like the dread mares these days no one is giving them up on any shard

dreadmares will continue to be king. The banes just die too darn quick.

how do banes die too quick? they have more hp and better resists than dreads. plus there are less dreads around, so you are more likely to get one with a lower pet calc rating meaning less resists/hp than someone who farmed up a nice bane.

only thing i can think of is people are carrying dragon slayers to deal with superdragons.

yes.. banes have a slayer vulnerability.. so far.. dreads don't

with a dragon slayer book i can take one down in 3 ebolts...

I can do the same with a boomerang dragon slayer or a bow, or a good sword... 600hp actually aren't high for a character with the right slayer weapon on its side...
Bane Dragon has low resistances so is not a challenge at all...
