Bane Attack[12]:Trinsic

The forces of Virtue Bane have been reported besieging Trinsic! With the eastern half of the mainland already under the demonic figure's control, it appears a push is in place to do a pincer movement from the south. Let not this city of Paladins, the site of Juo'nar's defeat so many years ago, now fall prey to the vile trepidations of yet another threat to Sosaria!

There is also rumor, from across the dimensions, that the demon lord Virtue Bane himself may be present to personally oversee the invasion!

Thank god my wife and I got a huge head start this afternoon! I see Mr. Redstar and his buddies with their dragons fighting off the Bane in the city... but no one fighting the nasty Ophies or dirty Meer.

As I ransacked the Ophidians with my deadly swordweilding wife earlier... I thought of something. Our "virtuous" land is supposed to be being defiled by the Bane. However, I cleared Barrier Isle not only of Ophidians this afternoon, but also a ton of brigands. Now, everyone knows that Barrier Isle is a hangout for brigands, but the government doesn't do ANYTHING! Yes, you see a token guard out there every once in a while, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of nobles and wealthy civilians captured and ransomed a year on the Isle. Think about it... I doubt that Lord Bane would put up with such foolishness.

Once my carpenter has finished repairing my staff, I must return to slay the evil ophidians. I'm beginning to see what the Terathans have been saying all these years.

Trinsic has been lost, Virtue Bane himself made an appearance, what could be next?

I wonder why he wanted Trinsic so badly... Granted it has the best fortifications (except maybe Serps hold) in the land. But it's so remote. Though I guess if you're going to conquer everything, every town counts.

I bet Dupre is turning in his grave...

He's turning the screws on the City of Britain. If he takes Skara Brae next, he practically has the capital surrounded.

Gyldenfeld defends the western approach to the capital. We have previously declared fealty to the monarch and will always honor our obligations, and esp moreso if it's Britain. Skara Brae is also in close proximity which would be adventageous in helping defend it as well. Ships could easily sail from Fortune Bay for landing parties or attack from sea.

Skara Brae does seem a logical next target, if not Britain itself. What if Bane switches gears and attacks Serps Hold? The City of Courage would be a devestating loss to the defenders... Queen Dawn did institute those replicas of the Bell of Courage in all the towns (though many are corrupted now... whaa ha ha). If Serps Hold falls does that take away whatever little good the replicas are doing now completely?

Or how about this. Trinsic is very close to the Delucia passage. Perhaps Lord Bane wants to expand his influence in T2A. I wonder how many people would even venture down to Delucia to fight him. Hmmmm.

Has anyone heard from the Royal Guards? I haven't seen their formations. Perhaps they are waiting for something???

I'm definately going to make sure I have some good complex carbs tonight and make sure my anti-ophi staff is polished back to its dark blood red. I think that a serious fight is brewing either tomorrow or the next day.

Serpent's Hold? Naw, they won't attack Serpent's Hold. Is there even a fake bell there at Serpent's Hold? They might capture the city of Serpent's Hold... but I'm not sure that Serpent's Hold is on their list of primary targets.

We shall see.

BTW, I actually like Serps Hold a whole lot myself. Though I am a big fan of the Bane... I'm not sure why anyone would be so against a change of government. But being that the Royal Guard is training and recruiting in Serps Hold, I venture to guess that Bane won't mar his sword against that anvil...
