The past few weeks, especially but not limited to peak hours, I ping 150-200ms...which is horrible. I have tested my lines, bandwidth, speeds etc..and I only have an issue when I get to the EA servers.

Traceroutes show 0-60ms pings til I hit the EA server then it triples to 150-200ms..

Same exact thing with me. My ping goes up to 150 - 200 at about 12pm eastern, then finally goes back down at around 10 - 11pm. This has been going on for almost a month I think. It did this last year also and it finally went away.

We've posted on the tech forums ( I noticed that you saw my traceroute). But I don't think anything can be done about it. Last year I had to just wait it out. Really sucks huh?

I had this problem earlier this year, but everyone was having it too.

I've since switched ISPs and I can't say that I've had the problem at all really. Then again, I don't really log in and PvP until pretty late in the evening.

My ping is a pretty constant 30-40 depending on the day.

Wanna think yourselves lucky...

I live in Spain, only have 3G mobile internet available to me, my latency when I log in is between 350-600.

I wish UO would have an ftp server you could do test download/upload

Ping really shouldn't be used as a diagnostic utility. Most routers will service ping and traceroute packets last after all other "important" traffic. EA servers infact filter ping and traceroute packets (which is probably why the latency you're seeing triples once you hit EA) But I'll grant you that the high ping would worry most, me included.

Are you on DSL?
