You know they do make a "bacon" product out of turkey, now.... It's not too bad, but I prefer the real thing.
And, I can vouch that there are people in those groups that have been known to think it's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.... Half the SDA I know don't follow their sect's dietary laws when away from official church functions, and some of my friends tell stories of their childhood, where their best friends growing up, the grandsons of the neighborhood rabbi, would sneak over to his house every morning (one of the few gentile houses on the block) and eat more bacon than he did, as they waited for him to get ready for school.
I'm a vegetarian because I am completely disgusting by the way that animals are harvested and treated in factories for mass consumption. Life is not a commodity. Not mine, not yours, and not theirs.
That said, I am not someone you would call an "animal lover" (I don't like my wife's pets very much and would never choose to own a cat or dog.)
Also, I think PETA is full of nutjobs.
But, the point is that virtual bacon does not offend me.
So I voted to keep the bacon!

Still waiting for the Jars of Pig's Feet or the lightly fried in butter with a little salt and pepper seasoning Pig's Brains. We have the graphics. Just need a little retitling. What players house bar shouldn't have the Jars of Pigs Feet and Pickled Eggs?

An idea might be... make it the "slab" variety and change the name every year.. applewood bacon.. smoked bacon... etc
