OK, trying to get info from a 9 yo was kinda rough but here's what I can tell you.
The asked general questions first, like what's your favorite thing to do in toon town and whats your least favorite. Ask'd what are 3 things that bother you the most. My niece said, and I quote:
"When toon say mean things like "you stink" cuz I'm not as big as them"
"when you lose everything when a cog hurts you"
"when I play the fruit drop game and other toons push me"
Awwwwwwwww! I told her that those were extremely valid points.
They had the kids (there were 5 kids in the group, all girls and all 9 yrs old) log on and play for 15 minutes.
The whole thing was on a video feed to Disney and there were also some reps from Disney in the viewing area. The parents were not allowed back there so we didn't get to discuss anything with them.
They also asked who pays for the account. Then asked, if your parents didn't pay would you pay to play. All the kids said "no".
OK, here's the stuff I think may effect the game for real:
They asked if they read the Newsletters that come in email. All the kids said "no". Then they asked if they would still play if there was no newsletter. All the kids said "yes". Sounds like they might be getting rid of the newsletter.
Then asked if they would like to have a "helper toon". For example, if they are fishing and didn't know what to do or needed more information, there would be an emote to raise their hand and a helper toon would come with some tips. (Reminds me of the paper clip helper guy in MS Office). After giving the help on fishing, it will ask if they need more information and if they say "yes" then a short video showing "how to play" would come up. I think that's a great idea as long as it doesn't interfere with other toons playing.
They asked if they would use a blog option. They would be able to click on a blog link (I'm guessing from the web home page) and post, reply and read other toons blogs. Another great idea.
That was about all I could find out from Kaela.
What was cool is that almost all the parents I talked with play TT too. A couple gave me their telephone numbers to call and get their true friend codes. LMBO!
All in all it was a good experience and it looks like they are thinking of implementing some new things.
