All who know Brother Patrick agree he is a kind and generous soul. Despite his love of a good ale, one might even say he’s a saint. It brings me no joy to share that just as Patrick finished tending the potatoes in the Yew Abbey garden and moved on to water the cabbage, he was beset upon and bit by several snakes.
I visited Brother Patrick in the infirmary, although he is looking a bit green, he remained in good spirits and announced his intention to drive all of the snakes out of Britannia. While I think this a bit fanciful on his part, it wouldn’t hurt to rid the land of some vermin.
In Patrick’s honor, the town of Beruna Pass is hosting two weeks of snake hunting and a night of gaiety. (with prizes, awards, and humiliation!)
Gather at the Tower at Beruna Pass at 8PM ET on March 17 to begin a Medusa hunt. Whoever donates the most RARE SERPENT EGGS to the cause will be awarded 5 MILLION GOLD. (snake charmer flutes available on Beruna Pass steward, just say Blarney!)
After the hunt, everyone is invited to attend and participate in the drunk limerick competition. Each participant is required to imbibe sufficient ale to become inebriated and recite their own original limerick. Judging will be totally subjective and so will the prizes.
