Avalon Town Hall

As mentioned in another thread, the Town Hall of Avalon has collapsed. Avalon was one of our shards original player-run roleplaying cities, and was blessed by the Seers. It was actually rather shocking, since Avalon's history was to be celebrated this weekend during the Kingdom of Dawn's 11th Anniversary Celebration. I was to be in charge of the tour of Avalon, while WildStar would be in charge of Dawn.

I am seeking to recover some of that history, before its lost forever. I am not seeking the rares or anything special; I could care less about unique decorations. Instead, I am seeking the player-written books and/or belongings of the Avalonians. I am willing to purchase or trade for them. I am by no means wealthy, but I am willing to spend what little riches I do possess to preserve the history of that fair city.

In addition, I've been meaning to ask. If anyone managed to discover any remains of the Golden Brew Tavern following its collapse last month, I would also be willing to preserve such items.

I can only shake my head. So many important locations have collapsed or have disappeared in the past couple of months. The Golden Brew. Avalon. Gravewater Shores is in shambles, and the Dark Tower's doors have been locked.

I am posting this for Pallando, Seppo, and those looking into the situation. This might help to shed some light on the mysterious circumstances of this mornings events...

Avalon Town Hall

The Avalon Town Hall is a tower that stands in Eastern Avalon, somewhat near the neck of the City of Destiny’s peninsula. It has long been used as the center of Avalon life.

The tower’s early life saw quite a few Dungeon Crawl & Wilderness Hunt launches, several vicious planned & spontaneous battles, many furniture replacements (as there was no ability for players to lock-down furniture at the time), and beloved Agnes, the Vendor of the bar on the Town Hall roof.

Twice Blessed
The Avalon Town Hall is one of the few buildings on all of Baja that has been twice Blessed with Game Master-enhancements.

Borealis Lume was instrumental in helping coordinate the first Blessing, and this lovingly crafted iteration of the Town Hall stood for a long time. This version was categorized by it’s social areas, theatre, and bar on the roof (now finished, and once again with dear Agnes).

An exploit used during a housing patch period caused the original tower to degrade, but the Game Masters were kind and replaced the Town Hall. New interior designs graced this third iteration, and for the first time there were exterior designs as well. An apple tree and long bench were created to greet residents and visiting travellers. The thumbnails which you see on this page link to more detailed pictures, which show the Avalon Town Hall as it stands today.

The Town Hall Today
An official Town Cryer diligently stands outside the front doors of the Town Hall, and within a Stablemaster is similarly posted awaiting your tamed animals. The tower’s roof is often used for ceremonies and celebrations, notable the swearing-in of new Ministers (the leaders of Avalon). Miriah currently stands as the Town Hall’s caretaker.

Ground Floor

A Town Crier stands outside, and an (NPC) Stablemaster stands ready inside to stable all your pets for a small fee. The main room in the Town Hall is a small meeting area, and the stairwell is home to a small, but beloved, brewery.​

Second Floor

The Ministers’ Council Room and office of the Prime Minister takes up the main room on the Town Hall’s second floor.​

Third Floor

A “Hunting Lodge” hall fills most of the Avalon Town Hall’s third floor. Memorobilia of past events stand testiment to the valor and tenacity of the Avalon people.​

Roof

Tables and chairs surround three sides of a large stage, often making it the perfect place for large town meetings and social gatherings. Avalon’s Town Hall roof has always been home to a bar for the people, and the current incarnation is no exception. The Eastern outcropping of the Avalon Town Hall is the current home of it’s famous bar.​

I think, based on the etymology of Avalon from the Arthurian Myth, the apple tree held some special significance. You would have to ask someone older than I.
