We would like a few tweaks to our ruleset right?

We know that if we argue amongst ourselves, and don't come up with a plan those changes won't happen.

So, lets pick an issue, come up with a solution and then bombard EA with feedback on that issue. Then, we can move on to the next.

Since ROT seems to be something that has a general consensus at this time, I nominate it for our first ever united Siege issue. (Well ok, not the first ever but at least the latest).

My suggestion is that ROT continue to start at 70. There should be a 5 minute timer between gains all the way to 120 with no daily cap. If someone wants to come to Siege and powergame their way to 100 in a day or two, I welcome them.

They still have to get scrolls to go higher than that.

What say you? Shall we bring some new players to Siege?

you should maybe make these feelings known on the actual survey Skylark started rather than seperately?

Someone posted a poll about ROT two weeks ago. Where's this poll now?

Enough people responded that it should be a reasonable enough indicator of Siege's desires, at least for now... so... take the most popular choice and go with it.

What we need is someone with enough time and fury to repeatedly hammer these issues into EA's consciousness. It doesn't matter who it is, it only matters that we all agree enough on the issue being presented to back said person up when we finally get a dev's attention.

I think I posted in that thread, but I have had a change of heart since then.

I was thinking 5 minutes per gain with a daily cap of 6. In retrospect, that isn't fast enough. What I really wanted was naked transfers to Siege. To, not from.

5 minutes between gains no daily limit sounds pretty much like the same thing to me now.

That doesn't help Kelmo.

Would you agree to a 5 minute timer and unlimited daily gains? This shard is stale. It needs some new blood yesterday.

That does not follow my thoughts on RoT. Doing away with caps would be a bad thing for the shard in my opinion. *waits to be convinced otherwise*

To be honest with you, milord... I wouldnt care if all chars on Siege started with all skills on 100 ! Having only to eat scrolls to reach 120...

Screw all the training crap. Let the new people come ready to enjoy the game. Even with the skills on maximum, if a person doesnt have the knowledge of game rules or the skills to play the templates they choose, they can be considered newbies and may join NEW to learn how to play... But they will actually PLAY the game instead of tedious hours of senseless skill training !

Or, the skills should be "purchaseable"... Say, if you want to have magery 100, you would have to pay 1 million gold and 500 diamonds to a NPC mage to train you... or something like that...

Damn, its so easy to make this game exciting just by changing some simple rules.. I dont understand what the hell our designers keep doing.... If I worked there, we would have at least ONE change to the game monthly !

I used to think that the caps were necessary. It slows down training, gives people a chance to get used to the shard and meet people.

But, people that want to do that can still do it without the caps. They don't have to powergame.

Removing the caps gives people who want to try Siege today or tomorrow an opportunity for that. Without caps, if you really want to get going on Siege in a hurry, you can.

More people=Good for Siege.

What other argument is there for caps?

We agree on the training issue I think.

This is the advanced shard. It is the gameplay which makes it more difficult.

The time it takes to be competitive should be shorter than a regular shard. Much shorter.

I believe that many of the citizens of Siege can agree on the following:

1. If I die to it regularly, it must be overpowered, and should be nerfed.
2. If it takes a lot of time/work to achieve, there's something wrong with it.
3. If more than 10 people have the same template, it must be overpowered, and should be nerfed.
4. Parrots are annoying, especially in large flocks.
5. If I die to it in or near Luna, it is gimpy, and should be nerfed.
6. Anyone who forms a guild called [NERF] must die.
7. A newbie samurai should not have to start life with a wok on his head.
8. Orcs should be un-nerfed, and given decent equipment and mounts.

Disclaimer: This is not to say that I agree with the above, or that the person currently reading this post agrees with the above. However, the person currently reading this post should be nerfed, because their reading skills are overpowered.

I just started Siege a few days ago.

I'm only in the 70's with 2 skills. I don't know how it is past 80.0, but so far gaining is SIMPLE. I just log on every five minutes, use the skill once or twice and get a guaranteed .1 gain. Log off, surf Stratics for five minutes, log on again and gain .1 with zero effort.

It has been easy for me with mining and lumberjacking. I don't know how it will be with smithing, carpentry, tinkering or tailoring (I'm not at 70.0 in any of those yet).

If it is as simple as logging on every 5 minutes to gain your guaranteed .1, then changing the ROT rules would make the already easy skill gain WAY TOO EASY.

I say they keep ROT rules the way they are and maybe add a 2nd character slot instead.
