Atlantic Mage Tower is reborn (pic heavy)

Its funny. Most of the really amazing days I've spent in uo came with no warning at all. It began with a message on icq from a very old friend.

Come to the AMT mage tower...

Most of you have no idea what that even is, but long ago it was a wonderful place. Every good thing that happened to me in my amazing uo life came from that place.

None of it had anything to do with me at all. I walked out of a door at LB's castle and met Nick of Time. He invited me to the mage tower. I met a man named Tifric. He changed my life.

I arrived

Then, the most amazing thing began to happen. We went up to the roof

The Eternal Flame of the Mages returned to Atlantic

An event of this magnitude will often attract otherworldly attention.

Next to arrive on the scene was Tifric himself. We lost Tifric in real life long ago. It was good to see him again.

Its funny its been all these years, and I'm still going to cry a lil' I guess. I loved Tifric.

And then, he was REBORN...

Then, Jenny came back to us... We lost Jenny too in life.

The celebration began after our dead were restored to us...

Thank you Mesanna for returning our home, and our dead. I doubt if I'll read this again. It turned out to be very painful, but please share our joy at the rebirth of the Atlantic Mage Tower.

Don't know if it's the screenshots or the incoherent narrative but I don't get it. What happened and why is it important. I love UO history and the old player-run stuff, but this post tells me nothing about what happened and why I should care.

I very much remember the first time I visited the AMT. It was an accident that I happened upon it.

I called a couple of guildmates via ICQ and told them to come and check it out.

There were all kinds of things that were unavailable to regular players. Sparkles, and decorations.


I miss the AMT, because it was a part of Atlantic's past.

I did read this again. I wasn't planning to, but I'm glad I did.

Here's the deal on that. We had a discussion about this. Tifric named his character incorrectly when he made it. His daughter was talking to someone about it later that was with us when the tower was being reborn. It was just a mistake he couldn't correct at the time.

Anyway I have a pic of his old icq name. Its sort of amazing how many pics I have over the years. I have really really old pics. That is the correct spelling.

Now, about the links. I'm not great at posting. I don't post all that much anywhere. It took a long time to make this post because I had to crop all the pics, and I didn't have a copy of it. I was sort of afraid I'd lose the whole thing. I was checking each link to make sure it worked. The last post I made with pics worked, so I guess I must have done it differently. I just honestly didn't know it didn't work like I wanted til I made it. Then, I really didn't know how to fix it.

Besides this was an emotional process for me.
