I went to LS a few minutes later, and had the same problem. I restarted my computer and was fine there - Atl was still laggy though.

Other shards do it to, I have seen about 5+ posts about GL being down in the last few months, as well as a few from other shards like Pacific and Balhae.

Atlantic alone accounts for half of the incidents in the past month. Point is no one outside of your home shard is interested. It belongs on the shard forum.

Pretty sure that is only because there aren't enough active players on most other shards to notice. Just the special few that play them because they feel tied to the history or worse, just to have a big old lonely house to decorate and re-decorate.

Well....to be fair Atlantic is like 75% of the players in the game at this point, so I can see why they would post here, since probably about half of the people who see it play Atlantic at least part time.

The thing is..I think most of the Devs head here to UHall first, here and the ask the devs and bugs forums before browsing all the shard forums so posting here is a good idea if they don't realize a shard is down. And I'm sure that there are many people that play Atlantic as well as other shards so putting it here is a good call imo

So youre trying to tell me that the Devs have no mechanism to tell them when a shard goes down? That they rely on happening to look at uhall and see a posting to know this? Really?

No that's not what I'm saying at all....I don't know if they have a big buzzer in their office that blinks with a flashing red light *Warning; Atlantic Shard is offline..Warning*....they might have to go into the system to determine if everything is online and working properly...I honestly don't know...BUT if a situation does arise that they are unaware of and happen to be perusing Stratics, UHall would be a good place to look, it's one forum as opposed to the 17 shard forums.

It's just an added layer of interaction, that's all...and I'd like to think that most people that use Stratics read UHall, it's like the water cooler of UO lol we all gather here to converse, so posts that that I feel have a place here as well I do agree they should post on the specific shard forum but there is no harm in posting here to Uhall as well.

More often than not I believe folk post here in hopes of getting some sort of acknowledgement of the issue from the DEV's.... you know something saying "We're sorry we are aware of the issue and are currently looking into a resolution on the matter... We'll keep you informed as soon as we have more information." And then some sort of "We're back!" Or something.

Maybe we expect too much from a service we pay for? I don't know.

Or maybe they are too busy working on our game that they don't want to have to take precious time out to post on every little thing we complain about. *sorry that we haven't fixed XXX issue, we've spent too much time posting on Stratics...NOT a good thing! lol I mean we do complain a lot...or I should say express dislike over certain things and if they were to post on every topic that would be a lot of time spent on here and not on the game. We all should know that..yes they do read Stratics..yes they do see our concerns and I am sure that they are working to correct some, if not all of them. The fact that they post here at all says so much and I'm glad they do!

I dont have anything at all for or against Atlantic. Its just another shard. Atlantic players posting shard specific issues in Uhall came to my attention because there have been 3 this year. None from anyone else in between, but yes ... it applies to all shards. Shard specific issues belong on the shard forum.
