According to everything I read, ropes, needed to craft hitching ropes, are found as loot on Krakens. Kat and I have farmed over 50 Kraken, in the seas of the underworld, the lakes of Shame and the high seas. Both those that spawn with or without nets from a boat and from land. As yet, we have not collected one rope as loot.

Has anyone looted a rope lately?

Last one I got (awhile back... couple months ago) was from the lake inside Wind. They are a pain to obtain, thus the reason you don't see too many for sale.

This sounds like a job for NEW. Whenever you have something tedious to do, just hire a batch of NEWbies to throw their carcasses at it until the mission is accomplished. The NEWbies love the chance to die in new and interesting ways under the supervision of their elders.

"I'm going to be killing these dragons. Here's a knife, loot them and skin them for me. Now, these are real dragons so I want to see goggles, people!"

...I miss having minions. Fields and fields of dead and dying minions. Ah, the fun of paragons and explaining the "Cross this line and they will cut you so bad that you gonna wish they no cut you so bad" rule.

ya I use to get them from the wind lake. but also from the white nets tossing ones. so not sure what is up with them.

For sure I've collected them in the last month or so from BOTH the lake in Wind and also in shame... They are about a 1 in 20 Drop though so if you only killed 50 .....

Exactly the info I needed. I just did not want to keep doing them for nothing. And thanks to everyone else who posted. If anyone wants to make some cash, farm up ropes. I will pay 100k gp/per.
