Seemed like the right place for this, apologize if not. Would love to get more testing and information on this interesting item property. It seems like a fun mechanic and I am excited to play around with some weapons.

*Assassin Honed weapons cannot be Re-forged or Enhanced.*
*New Item Property: Assassin Honed (found on items in the treasure room) – A successful hit with a weapon will provide additional bonus damage based on the attacker facing the same direction as the target. The percentage of the damage is based on the weapons original swing speed. Ranged weapons have a 50% chance to proc.*

From Wizal the Fox on Wrong Feedback thread.

"First tests made with an Assassin's Edge with base speed 3.75:
Although I didn't use a ranged weapon, the property doesn't seem to trigger everytime, OR the damage bonus is so random that in some case it is not noticeable.
Roughly, when it is both working and noticeable, the extra damage seems to be around 20-25%. It is included in the usual damage displayed, not as a separate hit (unlike Hit spells or Velocity)."

From CovenantX.

"... the damage proc seems to be a "base damage increase" so even if you're 100% dmg inc with items and 120 in tactics/anatomy max str, you will hit anywhere from 2-16 damage higher in (pvp) on procs with a (2.5s) base SSI wep."

Thanks for these bits of information guys, I wish I could have found a little more.

My questions at this time are:
Is the percentage of damage based on the weapons swing speed greater with a faster weapon compared to a slower weapon? - It would make sense if to me if the above information is accurate, because the faster weapons would have a smaller base damage.

What is the damage bonus intended to be on average? - I assume with the variability on weapon damage this might be tricky to determine.

How forgiving is this property on characters facing the same direction? - What I mean is, "If I'm behind someone but still on a diagonal, would I get the bonus still."

Well thats what I have for now, I appreciate any help you guys could give me. I know we have a great community of number crunchers here and look forward to getting some feedback as I try and do some tests myself.

Hi from what I tested you can notice a sound when it procs (I tried with a bow) and well I was kinda desapointed by the small bonus to damage it provides, since its not enhancable weapon and its less imbuing weight than exceptional. Even few times I was doing more damage without the proc than with proc ( lol?) tests effectued against a stone form guy with 74 physical resist... Was doing 7-8 on normal hits and 7-10 when it proced using a normal assassin bow not imbued.

CONCLUSION :

NORMAL ASSASSIN BOW NOT IMBUED AGAINST 74 Physical resist :
-Normal hits 7-8
-Proced assassin honed hits : 7-10

WHATS THE DEAL DEVS? Assassin honed CANT be enhanced and they have less imbuing weight tell me please whats teh deal of having an assassin honed bow
EDIT: Oh and I forgot the worst part of it: You need to be facing the same way of your ennemy or it never proc LOL

You're surprised? Look at all the useless artifacts out there and tell me, are you really surprised?

Because they are afraid it will be "overpowered" thus they introduce more useless, not "gotta-have to compete" equipment. There was an Ask and Answer regarding the damage vs swing speed, and it was reversed...the FASTER the swing speed, the HIGHER the damage. Very counter-intuitive dont you think? I really wonder who designed this stuff...
