First, where do you get Assassin armor? I picked up arms very cheaply and want to know how to get the rest of the suit. Is there any rhyme or reason on which named monsters or peerless/champs/doom bosses drop assassin pieces?

Second, for those of you using it for your Sampire or ABC Archer, how have you worked it into your respective suit(s)? I'm wondering how you make up for the missing resists, DCI (for the sampire) and DI.

Thanks!

There is no single boss that has a higher chance to drop the armor than any other. It's just random. The legs and gloves are the rare pieces that you'll only find on bosses. The arms and chest can drop on any named ML creature such as Miasma or Swoop.

I tried the suit on my archer and found mana, or lack therof, to be a serious issue so that lasted all of about 5 minutes. For my sampire it's much easier. I can't max DCI unless I have some on my wep, but it's only a few points so it's not that much of a problem.

Thanks, Connor. I'm going to slowly purchase the pieces as I see them and then will give it a try. Maybe I'll get lucky and a something will drop for me when I'm hunting.

I actually built my a sampire suit around 2 pieces of Assassin's Armor and a turquoise ring that gives 5% SSI. So between these 3 things I get 15% SSI, which works out pretty nicely.

To me, the additional 10% SSI from the complete suit was not worth the sacrifices of really poor resists in the pieces. The big bonus of +30 stealth is of no use to me as a sampire. The +8 stamina for the complete suit is easily made up for when replacing the 2 pieces. The dexterity +12 is a bit more of a challenge, but that's the trade-off of having SSI in your suit. If you know a good imbuer, you can definitely make it work with 2 Assassin's Pieces + ring, or 3 Assassin's pieces, and still max out your resists, DCI & still have plenty of room for mana & stamina features needed for the template.

I haven't thought this through completely for an ABC archer setup, but I think it can work as well. To me, having the entire assassin's suit prevented me from getting all the attributes that I wanted. But I was very happy to be able to get 15% SSI out of my suit without compromising on anything else that I really needed.

It's not that hard to fill in the holes you end up with. I'm at a near all 70's suit now with a complete set, also have the 5 ssi ring, and didn't have to bend over backwards to find enough dex to max it out. The extra ssi translates into the equivalent of 75 stamina. All it takes is the right gorget and a nice imbued ring/brace set.
