I still prefer a crafted heavy xbow as I can dismount and have it balanced.
oh I agree totally...but once ya get him dismounted I typically switch something to mortal wound him ( abhorrence)....and then switch again and drop a couple armor ignores
That wouldn't take much honestly... Most the arty bows totally stink.
The bane property it has makes it rather valuable.
It is a nice one to have around when the monster you're fighting drops below 30% health. Between 30% and 50% I prefer to use my imbued bows. Seems to do more damage that way.

the undead one isnt horrible night reaper I believe it is called.....not bad so undead spawns.
fairy fire always did well on cold based monsters for me....but I must admit I havent use it since returning last year. I guess imbuing just lets me put exactly what I like on my composites

Aren't artifact drops supposed to be clean? I just got a drop from Medusa, perfectly clean and that goes for other bosses drops As far as I know, artifacts as drops other than the Underwater do not spawn and drop with negative properties. As hard as these are to get, they should be clean for cryin' out loud.
Because for some reason the DEV's who created them and others are all different people.... Some are jerks and think that we need crap to break and be ruined even if they are darn near impossible to get... Others seem to delight in making things impossible.... take the joke that is fishing and getting a 120 fishing scroll or even half the "rare" fish.... even with bait and all the other crap it's nearly impossible to get without being forced to do that BS with Cora and all...
At any rate I find most of the stuff to irritating to even do anymore. Doom used to be that way for me.... HATED doing it because I knew that 99.9% of the time everyone else I went with would get a drop and I would NOT. Now it would seem that Exodus and Despise are the same way.... and I can spend hours on end killing in level 4 covetous.... and I've never gotten a single drop from there. After spending the time and effort and coming up empty handed time after time I just don't bother doing it anymore... which I imagine is the case with many other folk. Which means that I play less and less..... and less and less..... and eventually I'm going to get to the point where I ask myself more and more often "Why exactly is it that I pay to play this game?" And for a long time it's been because I have wonderful friends here. But as more and more of those wonderful friends ask themselves that question as well and leave.... I become less and less inclined to care and stay myself.
Often it's the nostalgia I suppose that keeps me in love with UO... But even that is fading of late. As the game becomes more and more about stuff and greed... friends get fewer and fewer... and eventually... it will die.
