haha i used to have the same problem the university of phoenix blocks all games from being played on thier wi-fi. i got around it from bringin myvirgin mobile usb internet thingy to class with me! dont quote my techno garble! i believe the term mobile usb internet thingy to be the proper term for it.
You do know that there are a limited number of socket connects at the University's server. So, most administrators can and do block non University activities at the Firewall. Many Universities have now gone wireless classrooms. Hint, they want you to do student stuff and not play games.
Also, please note that the connections do have a cost to the Universities. It is not entirely free.
