Arg what is the truth

Hi. I've been on the search for 100% chance to hit for a long time, so I know (or maybe used to know) quite a bit.

I was fighting a guy and I have refinement up to 50% DCI. Then the battle was on, and I got disarmed, bringing my DCI down to 31.

He hit me about 10 times, in a row, and I died.

I'm thinking he would have approximately 69% chance to hit me.

And I've been around and have seen luck, he probably should have missed at least once.

But I'm wondering if theres a secret to getting 100% HCI nowadays?

Did you rearm your weapon? If you get disarmed your defense chance will plummet. With equal weapon skill you have a 50% chance to dodge. Your opponent probably has a 98% chance to hit or better if you are disarmed.

I didn't re-arm, but i still had 31% DCI. Which I suppose made it about 69% chance to hit, with 45% HCI on his end. But I've been thinking about the dynamics of the game play and I suppose it makes sense to hit 50% against magic. Except the pesky protection spell.

HMMM I didn't think about HLD...

EDIT: Oh wait, do you mean my skill in archery doesn't count without a weapon?

It does not count. In essence you your 31% DCI bonus means nothing when your defense chance is already 0% or close to it.

You can play around with the hit/defense chance calculator on Stratics to find out more.
