Title pretty much states it all. With Magencia being cleared out, are we outta luck for getting any threads? Or did the spawn get moved somewhere else

It was a bit overboard for a faction town. But, if they fully removed the capability to get threads, that sucks

The threads were added to the faction boxes as a way to get silver, so yeah thats going to suck if they completely removed them =/

Adding a suggestion here. A time gate to the past, and do with Magincia what they did with Moonglow, so anyone who wants can go back to the ruined Magincia and hunt.

Doh, I knew they were doing away with it, but didn't know for sure it was gonna be this patch.
I asked in one of the threads over the last couple of weeks, but didn't get a reply from the devs. Thought it would be done only in the next event arc...

I like that idea. I always thought it would be cool to have time gates to certain past events.

The threads were introduced almost 3 years ago.
The second round of threads were introduced with pub 56 over a year ago (Halloween 2008, actually).
The quest to redeem your cloak (which takes all of 30 seconds) was introduced in Pub 59 6 months ago.
A six-month long event (not counting the previous years of materials gathering) and you ran out of time...?
Please. Turn it off. I don't mean to sound snobby, but If you had time to farm the ToT, Halloween, and T-day event, then you had an hour or so to farm a few threads, run to one of the seers and complete the quest.
You snooze (for 6 months!), you lose.

Sorry, the Blackrock Detector Disaster was at the end of March of '08. So 1.5 to 2 years ago.
It was built in the beginning of February '07. My bad.
Still, doesn't change the point of my reply.

Yes, I was holding off on converting my cloaks until I was certain of what I needed them converted to.
So, now that I've got these ultra rare cloaks, any one want to buy one for 100M?

If you choose to spend your time developing your characters and doing champ spawns and whatnot, then that's your choice. You chose to avoid turning in your cloaks. They didn't take that opportunity away from you.
I could understand if the event was for a very limited time, or took place over a rather hectic holiday season. But 6 months is plenty to complete something that should have taken one night.

Chances are surplus threads will begin appearing on vendors now for outragous prices. Just buy 100m in threads to finish your cloaks...
I may have a few threads on a couple of shards (Sonoma, LA, and maybe Origin?) that I'll never use. I'll check and post on the respective shards if I have anything. They're the threads from the pesky dudes that would never leave you alone...can't remember if that makes them threads of fate or something else.
Pretty sure it was March of 2008.

I'm pretty sure March of '08 was Spring Cleaning...where we got to dump all of those planeswords and planeshields and were told to hold on to our threads for something "later".

You're right, thank you. It's all those lab chemicals floating around in my head.
I do feel it is not too much to ask to be given fair warning as to when the threads would be no longer obtainable. We had a warning regarding the red crystals from the last event (although that is in the midst of heated debate as well ).
We can discuss whether or not we had enough time to acquire the threads we needed.

They found a quite spot for the Black Rock Eli to spawn if someone wanted the experience, so they can do the same for the ghost. There is just to much been going on for plp that work to pay for their own accounts. Not everyone has their mommy paying to keep them out of her hair. Also why deny anyone new to the game that wishes to earn their own items and not pay through the nose. They want to cut/change something that has been around to long. They can start by rotating in a new string of arty in Doom and Ish. Nothing as uber as past arty. A new string that supports a little Imbuing specializing.
