Archiving fiction; need your opinion

After the conversation several of us had the other day, I took a little time to start putting together a template for archiving player-written fiction in the wiki, while also allowing for it to be translated. Give this a look and let me know what you think; it's a random player-written book I'd found on Mizuho. Note, the story is unintentionally a little graphic - I'm not aiming for commentary on the story (we can actually use the wiki discussions tabs for that, once books are archived in there), but for now, thoughts on the layout itself. It's reusing some of the same design as I'd used for official fiction ( Official Fiction - Stratics Community Wiki ).

I like this idea quite a bit. It may be a bit hard to do but if somehow the text could auto populate within pages of the CC book gumps I think it would look more authentic and true to the game. That may be asking for trouble, code-wise, though.

I agree there is some mighty fine writers out there that could wirte the book on story lines

I put together a simple editor; fill in a few fields, copy in the book text, and it'll automatically generate the translations and build the template for you. All you have to do then is add the book to https://wiki.stratics.com/index.php?title=UOlayer-Written_Fiction then copy that generated template text to the specific page you just linked. Editor is here: editor Just save that to an html file, then open that file in your browser.

(There may be other ways to export the text of a book, or even copying it manually, but it's the one good use I find for the EC+Pinco's UI; turn on book logging and it'll automatically save a copy of any book to your EC directory.)
