Arcane clothing on a Gargoyle?

I hope I'm missing something here... Please tell me that it's possible to make an arcane item for a Gargoyle.

I have a Tailor and a Gargoyle. My tailor makes arcane stuff for the rest of my chars, but when I decided my Gargoyle had to have an arcane item (after he died of course) I remembered that he can't wear any of the normal items that can be "arcane".

What am I missing?

well, i know they can wear the arcane robes, but yeah, nothing else.
