Hello, I just started playing UO again. It's been about ten years since I last played but so far I'm having some fun. I started on Siege because it is the closest thing to old UO thats available (on real shards).

I was just wondering, where the hell is everyone? I have met a few people here and there and have ran into a pk dou twice that seem to prey on newbies. Wyrm or somthing is one of the guys names, they check all the newb locations for hot pvp action I guess. Whats funny is when they killed me the second time I had a few shovels and tinker tools on me and they looted my corpse yet left the hundreds of tools I had to throw to the ground do to being over burdened lol!

My character is a sort of mix between harvester\archer so far, just to be able to make my own stuff like arrows etc. His name is James Bond, it wasn't what I wanted to go with for long term but it wouldnt let me reroll so oh well. I'm going to keep chugging on this shard hopefully I will run into some of the community... while in town.

I advise you to read the 'mythbusting' sticky at the top of this forum, there's lots of good information and advice there.

Hot spot on the shard is Luna, venture there at your own risk. At this time of day a lot of the shard are sleeping, but there are some of us around. Just bear in mind that, just because you can't see them doesn't mean they're not there.

A good source of starter cash is to shear the sheep in the yew pens and make the wool into cloth. Yards of cloth sell for about 350 gp each, and you'll have no trouble finding buyers, just post here.

Also, if you can find a good undead slayer or high fire damage bow, go farm mummies in level 1 deceit. They give good loot and lots of bandages.

Also, you can farm arrows by killing ratmen archers (level 2 ice dungeon or ilshenar, near sacrifice) or centaurs (a valley in ilshenar north of the Juka city near honesty shrine)

you will notice rather quickly that hiding and stealth seem to be very popular. you will notice yourself running into invisible objects quit often at the bank...becareful....there ar emany thieves lurking at the luna bank....if you have important items i would suggest a different bank near a gate...like skara or makoto or something where town guards are close...

i would be more than happy to help yah out.... i coudl supply you with a say 5k arrows...and a lil GP...to get yah a decent start...there are a lot of stealth archers here...so picking up hiding and stealth mightnot be bad idea...ninjitsu isnt a bad combo with that...

Try and hook up with Shalimar. She runs the NEW guild. You can stay with them for 30 days or so and they will help you with the things you need to get your skills up and running and also good company of other new players to Seige. They also do some spawns and it is s great opportunity to learn
about the different guilds and player run towns. It gets lonely here when just starting with out a little help.

Nice place to go is spirit champ spawn and kill wisps for bones, you can also lure harpies down into the pixies and loot them for feathers. Somtimes there will even be a gipsie camp nearby to do your banking at.
Oh and I pay 50K when I am around if you pop the champ to Ki Rins for me to herd.

dont waste your time with all that nonsense. the skills you need cost you ZERO. tame lore hide stealth ninja and vet. ocne you get enough tame and lore you can kill stuff with a pet and buy some bandaids.. or hell hook up with me and i can give ya some. hide and stealth like that other guy said is must. ninja is good to make up for your lack of magery to get around, plus you can heal self as a dog. tons of house spots near moongates and if you runnin around with a super drag most of those people with 3+ million dollar suits will leave ya be. bon apetit! dont forget your DP ninja stars cause they are decent with nijitsu and smoke bombs also. great for insta invis. until you get lets say 50 million to have all the potions, uber armor (if any of the horders sell ya any (tek and nym)) endless supply of reags or arrows and enough friends 30 seconds away you prob wanna stick with the template up top.. bon apetit again.
