I ordered parts to build a new computer and it all should arrive later today. I've been playing the last 5 1/2 years on an underpowered laptop and looking forward to having more than one window open at a time.

After putting it all together and loading work software, the next item on the agenda will be downloading the UO 2d and KR clients. My question is, are there any short cuts to downloading/installing the clients on a new computer? Do I have to go through the hours of the KR download on a DSL line? Is it possible to take the installs off my laptop and somehow transfer it to the new build?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

If the laptop the programs are on now has a DVD burner on it you could just burn the programs to disk, then copy them over onto the new computer.

I can't think of anything other than that to speed the process up.

If your old laptop doesn't have a CD or DVD burner, go buy a Belkin transfer cable. You can plug it into the USB ports of both computers, and just transfer the files to your new one. It's cheap and easy.
