so, what's the silliest thing you've held onto all these years? Picus mentioned, in another thread, that he still had some red and white newbie clothes and I really don't think they're silly at all.... darn things are newbie blessed and you can't lose them! :)

I have a lot of things.. you don't get to be GM Packrat by tossing them out.. and one of them is a big black axe made by Beefcake Charlie. I did not know Beefcake Charlie, so it's not a sentimental thing, it's just that when it comes time to haul out stuff it's one of those things ya look at and put back in the crate..... dunno why o_O

Soul Stones from peopel who I played with 5+ years ago. Who knows they might come back one day. I actually still have the suits those people last logged out on as I was given access to the accounts for the last week or so. Sad reminder of times gone bye.

My most cherised item is a old leather hat sewn by my first account which I sold. The hat turned up on a old trading site a goodly number of years back so I bought it for 5 times what the guy was asking. It's on the floor of my main house collecting pixel dust.

I have a key ring in my bank full of keys to other people's houses and boats. I'm fairly certain all the keys stopped being useful at least 13 years ago.

I also have a keyring full of house keys.. dunno who's anymore of course.

Also I kept one Felucca and one Trammel moonstone.

I have the sword I got as a wedding present from the GM that officiated.
I also have several suits crafted by Sweet Adeline, who was the first blacksmith to ever hit GM on Catskills.
A couple of my characters still have newbie clothes..

I'm envious of the practice swords wish I'd kept one.

For some bizarre reason I can't seem to throw away a spellbook with 45 spells in, which was the entire haul of what my husband managed to snag when a castle dropped. There was so much fantastic loot to be had and all he could grab was that book hehe, he was gutted. Absolutely no idea why I keep it lol.

The three piece Marble Table server birth that I originally pulled during my early days of UO. Still in my office, at my Hedgemaze house (next to the pond) on Atlantic. Would have never guessed how rare it would then become. It is a shame to see how other server births (like my blue "glass") has now become worthless -- my hope is that this item will always remain valueable.

Agreed -- just a little disappointed because it was one of my absolute favorite rares and paid a hefty sum about three years ago to actually obtain. Now, anyone can get them. But, you can still find it sitting on my Marble Table. :D

I have a few suits of armor and weapons my very 1st GM smith made that have the "An Exceptional [insert armor/weapon name]". Sadly that account and another got lost when I switched email address in 1999 and I have no way of recovering the accounts that I know of. Anyhow, found the armor and some weapons in an old Moor idoc about 2 years ago. =/ I also have a pet kirin that isn't worth much of anything except sentimental value and one of the most important things I have in my bank box is a 'water bucket' container Maling Kytiao gave me for my birthday one year.

You should never ask a Horder such a thing...

Let me see... there is the hatchet that I got from my favorite Blacksmith back in "the day" who used to do all my repairs... he almost NEVER gave out stuff with his name on it so I cherish it. It was made by Pork Chop Jesus.

I have a couple pairs of newbied scissors...

I have a few items crafted by friends long gone.

I used to have a Valentine from Enshu Ponfar the first Mayor of Yew... but I entrusted the Museum over to someone who promised to care for it.. and needless to say they let it fall. Very sad about that.

I have dozens of AoS boots that I love... I have dozens of personal bless deeds.... or personally blessed items... I keep I don't know why...

I have a massive collection of 100% weapons that I've amassed over the years in effort to have them all. Still working at it. I have the verite chainmail coif a very old friend of mine made for me when he finally GMed his smithing. He promised me Valorite but I told him I would much rather have green.

I have a runebook made by Brianna Knight, my name from 1997-1999.

A book that I used to write a note to my friend Zeeto when I gave him a silver simitar of power he used to kill that darn liche in Wind. Zeeto left both worlds in 2000 so that note I wrote him is my most prized possession. It never leaves my bank.

I have a black dress made by my "sister" Rose many years ago that Andra found and gave to me when I returned this year. She also gave me the AOS rose Rhiannon had that's named.

Precious items with memories attached.

If I had never let my house fall when I thought I was actually quitting for good (laughs) I could have had a great answer to this thread. As it stands I think it would have to be my "sewn" sash. I actually had no idea it was a sewn sash until the recent years, all I knew is I that I liked my sash. Also have the royal britannian guard sash blessed.

Valentines Day cards from two old friends who no longer play. Those are probably my favourite things.

The one I wish I still had, though, was a drake. One of my first UO friends (who left us for EVE many many moons ago) gave it to me when I was just a little tamer. It was my first "big" pet, and gosh did I love that thing. Kept it for years until I desperately needed the stable space. I still have the white wyrm he gave me, at least.

Geez one thing that I have been cleaning out of my banks lately are all the old Silver Power and Vanq weapons for each char that are now feeble compared to what I can craft, just saving a few with magic charges on them. Also I have a huge haul of rings of teleport and invis items from when I used to have fun doing champ spans in fel, as a feeble pvper I was an escape artest and very often when attacked would equip invis item and use teleport rings to hop around, was tons of fun.

Silliest thing? I don't have any silly things!

I have slippery snake skins..and ophidian rations and orders...in all the shades of grey.

I have an anniversary card to FayLaDee...given to me by a dear mysterious friend (For those of you who remember Fayled Dhreams)

I have the runebook to my old player run town of New Dawn (Winya Anoron which means New Dawn in Elvish)

I have the Christmas Card Maharia's love wrote her...back in 2006....right before he disappeared.

An exceptional Dragon Barding Deed given to me by the first person I met when I started playing.

A unicorn given to me by another very dear friend who's been long gone. Pre-patch.

Plenty of good memories stored in my home :)

...

Hmm...

- Teleport rings... about 6 or 7 of them
- non-Exceptional, but player crafted Plate Arms and Legs... Why? Because they were made from Coal Ingots.
- A Shovel of Exceptional Quality that doesn't list charges in the tooltip/item window
- Several extra sets of regular clothes from an old (possible) ingame GM character that ran a clothing shop that offered undyable colors

Probably a lot more odd stuff if I actually looked but those are three off the top of my head.

I've got a regular old black bandana that one of my best UO friends used to wear on his blacksmith. Nothing special about it, just old as dirt and sentimental.

I also occasionally go back to where me and him placed our first house...a small tower near the mountain on Fire Isle. There is a little 7x7 there now, but I remember me and my buddy wasting the hours away strip mining the mountain and dragging all the ore back to our small tower and excitedly updating each other on our gains as we trained. There's always a little pang of sadness in my heart when I see the spot these days.

I first left the game in 2003, not long after Age Of Shadows due to disliking the itemisation shift. I came back in 2009, 6 years away, and found myself completely naked except for the newbie wizard hat I'd started the game with, on the island of Occlo where I'd logged out near my first my home, long since fallen and gone. I'd given away everything else I owned, but I found my old guildmaster and he'd saved a blue beetle, and a bag of personal memories and the book I'd written the meanings of each item in. Even the book itself had meaning, as I'd found it on and a lot of items belong to a player called "Pluvius" who'd died near the Ophidian Temple and then been looted by a Stone Gargoyle. I'd stayed an hour to return his things... only he never came back, and I never found him in game afterwards.

So what wonders where in my keepsake bag and now sit in a Vanity by my bed? Feast your eyes on these fantastic treasures!

* An Bronze Marble eagle statue. It was a gift from a neighbour of the small tower that was my first home, his name was apparently "Pernix Ultor"
* The first ever treasure map I completed...
* A fireworks wand, my first ever reward from my newbie ticket; and the note that "it's been locked away to stop people from using it" as it used to be that when on display it could be triggered. Interestingly, the charges had reset over the years and it's back to 100 now.
* An Invulnerable Leather tunic given as a gift by "Anya Mirathaya" when we'd met and chatted by the Arctic Ogre Lords. The stats of it now? Self Repair 1, 6/8/7/7/7 resists. Sigh. Damn you AoS. But reading this, I'd said when I left I thought she'd stopped playing, but I realise now that the character was at EM events today until very recently, and I'd not clicked why the name seemed so familiar! I must chase her up again!
* A Katana. Originally poisoned, but it's lost that attribute over the years; used in a 2002 Sam Vs Bob fight for which I created a Sam, and who I still have today (Sam Slade). It's crafted by "Menendil"
* 2 pieces of cut leather, dyed red. They were the only decoration left in my first home when I moved in
* A pair of scales. The first ever Tinkered thing marked with my crafters name.
* A bag with a greater healing wand, 2 cure and 2 heal potions, and a rune for Empath Abbey. I met a person handing these out by the winery, for the Plague Of Despair event as a way to get people back into the fight quicker. It was here that the Sosaria Red Cross was formed as a guild, which I'm still in today.
* A dead fireplant; I won this (when they were new) for coming first in a guild event, a naked marathon across the lands... but didn't notice it wasn't decorative so I'd forgotten to feed it.
* A "Green Floppy Hat" crafted by myself as a prize for Herding race from Trinsic to Britain... which I ended up winning back for coming first in! I would later be told these are now actual rares? Woo hoo then!
* "The Golden Ankh", a small dragon ship named after Lord British's ship in Ultima VII, my first ship and the ship I first sailed around the entire world marking my own runes to islands as an adventure on. She sails again every now and then today; If you see my Europa video elsewhere, it's the ship on the right when Osiredon pops, so people without High Seas could come too...
* A goblet, from an evening drinking with a guildmate. I can't remember what we talked about or why the goblet should be kept...
* Another Greater Healing Wand, which was inside the chest that I GM'd lockpicking on back in 2002
* A Pile Of Snow; this I kept because it just mysteriously turned up in my backpack... I can't read when though as the red-leafed books don't work properly even to this date, and much of the text has been cut off. It wasn't during Xmas holiday I think, hence why it was so mysterious!
* A fire coloured Sash crafted by "Bijtje". It was a reward for a Guild event again I think...? Another naked Marathon, and I've got it marked down as being awarded for being a "Good Sport". But I can't recall why!

So many simple items... but so many happy memories! Or just wistful wondering of what they once meant... No, I can't throw any of this away!

Assuming this was in response to my post, yes! 100! (Or a hundred if you prefer)

It was somewhere around 60 or so charges left when I eventually locked it away to stop visitors to my first museum playing with it I think... it's not become a "Minerva Wand" like most of the others in my bank box when I came back, but as you can see, it's reset to 100 charges.
