I usually do not post rumors that I hear in-game here, because I do not want to propigate a bunch of conspiracy and or 'chicken little' scenarios, but with this one I am gonna because I want to squelch this once and for all.

Here I am, skilling in TC3 and the subjects of the jobs not working comes up and how the bug has spread to EA Land. This guy sitting next to me pops up and says "Uh, that's NOT a bug, that's on purpose". Not wishing to carry things further in room chat and confuse newbies more, I took it to PM and asked him what he was talking about and why he felt that way. He said that he thinks its because of Luc's statement in his interview that payouts won't be raised until botting and exploiting is dealt with. I told him the reason payouts at jobs were never lowered is because you cannot bot the job tracks. He then told me that was a lie, that the job tracks did have an existing bot program and that that is why they were pulled, because the devs found this exploit.

He said he had proof of said bot, but when I offered to swap contact information so he could pony up this evidence he chimes in with "No I'm not going to because I have no way of knowing that you won't spread this 'filth' around and make the problem worse". OK first of all even if I WAS gonna do that, with the jobs turned off WTF good would it do to have a link to where the bots were, because if this has any shred of truth to it then chances are jobs won't be back for a long time, maybe even as long as maze was removed to try to thwart those bots.

Anyway, I am 99.5% this is just another sensationalist conspiracy theory spouter, but I figured I'd come here and ask because this is the common place that rumors get proven or squashed.

Its just another doomsday scenario, the same as everyone saying that the ATMs will be the only way to make money. If EA knew about an exploit in the job tracks, they would have explained why they were off and put everyone at ease. Since we've heard nothing, that just can't be the case.

It's the same bot that you were supposed to be able to download for TSO back then, it's supposed to do everything for you, even have two jobs... It has been there since I started playing and I don't see that bothering the devs... I don't think it works in our new environment. Or at least I don't think so... but as I told before, it has been there since I started the game about 2 and a half years ago.

I don't know why people get so upset over things that people say in the game. Some people say stuff JUST to get a reaction because they are bored. I was in this one house where this female avatar went on and on about her mental illness and everything and people were so trying to help her and be nice and it turned out that she was just messing with everyone. People do that and sorry to say it's not the children doing it, it's the adults. I just have fun and go with it. Sometimes the drama is fun, sometimes it isn't.

Now that CBrewton5 talked me into signing up for a pogo account I can go there and play when the drama starts!

Why are you posting this here instead of the blog or sending a private message to a dev here or in game? If you truly didn't want to continue the spread of a rumor you should have gone straight to them.

And I don't know how long you have been playing but the payouts on jobs have been cut in half, tso mania has what the jobs USED to be.

Even if bots did exist for the jobs... They would have posted stating jobs were disabled due to an exploit or cheat. Not just disable them with no word.

I actually find this scenario to be more pausible than believing it is a bug. For one thing, devs are pretty open when it comes to comfirming bugs and relating they are working on a fix. I know many people think the lack of communication is down but devs have never discussed exploits openly. If there is an exploit then we may or may not even hear about it once the problem has been resolved.
I, like many, assume there is an exploit when the subject of discussion receives no response from EA. While fixing the current problem, I only hope they are also creating something to detect those using so-called exploit and punish them to the fullest.
