Seems you can get the boiling part of a boiling cauldron stuck as a static object and it will block house placement. I am not sure what causes the object to get stuck but it will.

Make sure you report this bug through the proper channels when you get the chance. Send in a bug report to EA/Mythic - the forums aren't a guaranteed way to report gameplay issues.

Call a GM they will come remove it. It has been and issue for a while.
