The hour glasses do not animate. This was primarily the case so they would double as little pedestals to place relics and heirlooms from yesteryear. Looking forward to seeing some exciting museum displays!

Would be cool, if there would be an cabinet/book whatever included, to which they could be added as the harpsichord scrolls to the harpsichord, reducing the room and the number of lockdowns needed, as well as the ability to stack all identical stuff.
And who designed them to include security settings, defaulting to house owner only if locked down? It's not that a guest could really do something bad with full rights on them.

The hourglasses can animate. Use the deco tool to turn an hourglass and it will be animated. Turn it a second time and it will stay still.

dang, that did it, AppleJax.... thanks!

and as long as Olahorand brought up the harpsichordes, wouldn't it be nice if you could close the lid on them?

Didn't even think of that one, I stand corrected! Generally all the animated tile art has a series of frames and the first one stays put, in this case the house decorator likely flip flops between them. Very cool none the less! Still looking forward to those Museums *grins*
