Animal Form [Please Read]

Hiyas i have been working my ninja skill & got it all the way up to 103.8 or so and once i get into animal form i can choose all the animals available and stuff but once i try to cast out of animal form (I am an elf) to me what i see happen is it turns me into a human for about 4 seconds with really bad lag and i have to try to move then i lag again for 4 seconds or so then i see myself as elf again but i asked a few friends to watch and that didn't happen they saw me turn into elf right away i tried soulstoning the skill and moving it to a different character and that didn't happen but that character is human and not elf!

Any ideas or how i can fix this please?

Im not 100% sure what you are trying to do.

- If you are trying to cast a spell while in animal form, you will not be able to. Animal forms prevent spell use, weapons specials, etc

- If you are trying to leave animal form and go back into your normal form, there is something wrong with the program. Leaving animal form causes HUGE lag sometimes. I used to have this problem every time I changed out of animal form in the KR client. Now it only happens some of the time.

Bullseye. Exactly what i am trying to say except its happening in the 2D client too and it is always happening....

Is it something that needs a fix from the UO Team or what?

I've been having the same problem for the past few months, but haven't tried the 2d client as I only started out with KR. Has this issue been fixed? Is there a workaround? Do I have to play as a human, not an elf?

I play a human ninja and i catch lag when i get out of animal form as well

I have posted about this in the bug forum. This seems to be a server/KR client timing issue or perhaps one involving downloads from the server.

Apparently, when we change form, the information about "who and what" we were (inlcuding skin tone, special faces, etc.) is stored on the server. Changes *into* animal form are not affected. But, when we want to *exit* animal form, the server sends our client what it needs to "rebuild" our character. It takes longer if you're an elf than if you're a human because it sends the data twice (once to turn you from animal to human and then again to reset from human to an elf).

For the 2d client, this is fast and simple and small. For the KR client, either there is a *lot* more information or there is a coding issue that makes it take *much* longer to reset our character.

Please please please...even though I have, all ninjas should submit an official bug report to:

It's fast and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make KR a useable client.

So its a graphic glitch where you appear human for like 2 seconds when switching out of animal form. Is it really that big of a deal? Let the devs fix stuff that needs fixing.

Try having dialup. On test and ATL I lag out for around 8-15 seconds at a time when ANYONE goes out of animal form. ITs only about 2 seconds on Siege and Legends, and I never got it when I played my great lakes ninja.

You guys get this in 2D? I noticed this lag too on my new ninja but I use KR and on broadband.
Every time I come out of animal form and into human form, the screen will lag for about 2-5 seconds. Sometimes the screen turns black then back again. So I run away in animalform, then get back out to human, and BAM, freeze for a while, then the mobs are on top of me!

AND.... mirror image will also cause lag! If I have many images.

It's very annoying and this may make me wanna delete this new ninja char if it's not fixed! What a shame.
