Ancient Smith hammer with Runics

Can I use the bonus from an Ancient hammer and use a runic hammer to make weapons and armor?

Hold the ancient smithy hammer in your hand so you get that bonus - then 2x click the runic hammer in your pack and it will work - but it will take a charge from both hammers...
