An honest question about arch cure changes.

What is the logic behind this? I see no reason why it should be changed. I recently changed my necro mage to a pure mage/poisoner. Keep in mind the arch cure changes aren't in game now, and when I DP it still takes 6+ cures, and 1-3 arch cures to cure it.

From what I've read, arch cure is going to be the same exact thing as cure?

:0 Geez!

Every time I LP someone with my kryss, it only takes one gcure pot or archcure to cure it. Well, maybe one time in 5, it will take 2.

Those changes haven't gone live yet, and the devs were obviously listening to the massive amounts of negative feedback they received on the issue.

I wouldn't worry aobut it yet. If it goes live and is all messed up, then you worry

Nothing is written in stone. That's why it went to test shard first.

i think the logic behind it is that my 100 poisoning points can only do one thing and they should do it well while your 120 magery can do 64 things? and should not be easy to cure... that being said it should be like 50/50

The difference being that fighting a mage that knows how to cycle or a dexer that swings at the cap with a 50% hit fireball weapon will absolutely annihiliate any mage without cures. I know that when I played a poison mage, it didn't matter who I was fighting, if they didn't have cures, they were dead. 100% of the time. No if, ands, or buts. As soon as I landed my one poison and they went to try and cure it, they were dead. Every time. Not 99% of the time. Not 99.99999%. 100%. Poisoning is easily the most overpowered skill, and the most underpowered, if you have cure potions.
And that there are maybe 20-25 spells with useful pvp utility.

Solution:Change the cure spell back to how it used to be,
Change arch cure back to a level 4 casting time spell.
Reduce arch cure's effectiveness (say 75% for lvl5 at 120? 60% at gm)
Reduce cure potions effectivness, require max EP for current status

...yeah

Re: I'd like to go test the petball changes on TC but there are no petballs on TC?

TC should be updated this afternoon with a bunch of stuff, including yanking the archcure change (more in the FoF on this,) petballs and some other goodies on TC bankboxes, and a few other bug fixes.

I think its a good change. Its about time that both cure pots and Arch were looked into. Now there should be a chance to cure with these near 0 time items/spells but it should not be near the level that it is at now. As per the normal rants on stratics if something is added to the game that makes it slightly harder or adds a challange then watch out.
