Ahoy there mateys! It has come to my attention that some of you haven't seen all the pleasures o'the sea yet! Yaaargh, some of ye haven't even seen Corgul! So as a way of whettin' the appetites of ye landlubbers, I hope to host ALL THREE High Seas bosses in a row at the above sailin' time mateys!

Yes, come first for an invasion o'the Isle o' CORGUL.

Afterwards, we'll sail from his island and locate the majestic CHARYBDIS

And then finally, we'll repair and limp to a dock and summon OSIREDEON

Hopefully anyway... Corgul is easy enough to set up, and I've just enough bait left to guarantee the second stage, but I'll be looking to buy white nets for the last part probably, as I've only 2 left. Donate wood and cloth for repairs if ye feel generous!

PLAN FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS+ FOR THE ENTIRE SET. Depending on turn out and loitering swabs of course, if people get bored it may take longer. Any character class can come, but they all have different problems; A bard would be ideal for all stages if someone has one for the Discord, but Corgul teleports casters, Charybdis hides from melee, and Osiredon has anti-life leach, so be aware though so everyone else will suffer at least during one monster in some way...

THERE WILL BE FISH STEAKS!

And nothing else it seems, at least from Charybdis. However, remember to check around the floor when Osiredon dies, as he drops rare coloured wooden boxes that are L6 or so locked, which have a small set of Peerless reagents inside, as well as the usual loot table for killing him (cross your fingers for small forges folks!) And Corgul's usually very generous, although he doesn't have any fish steaks, so boooo to Corgul.

Prolly i will be with Morgana (O'rly :D) for Corgul and then i'll switch with my archer for Charybdisfor some steaks ! But but... maybe my fishy character ( n00b ) can pop on teh stage for some show :arr:.

We'll see, maybe ill be there with my Orc ship or Brit one, so we can spank teh fish from two sides

ADDENDUM! After hearing the sad news tonight, it strikes me that we should fill our ships with ale, and after beating off the beasties of the sea, we should all pile around to the EM Museum on malas and get horribly drunk and toast Emile... break his furniture... vomit on his collected rares... sleep in his bed with our boots on... it's what he would have wanted! *sniffle* Take lots of screenshots for him, remember his fine work on Europa!

As usual, it's a random spot because both Corgul and Charybdis are random; the Corgul map has a 2 hour timer alas too, so we've only just dared grab it. But we can tell you now, we'll be sailing from...

SERPENTS HOLD DOCKS

Gates will be opened shortly, just loading the ship and plotting Charybdis from Corgul...

That were an evening both fun and educaaarrrghtional methinks! We discovered much, much of which we discovered we shouldn't be doin' again!

The first thing was, it seems the boat can't cross the map onto Corgul's island when the map is in the hold of the ship? We shuffled about like kippers for some time, and although some of us could apparently see the island border lines on the overworld map, many of us couldn't, including myself. The Tillerman could sail to the point from the map, but nothing happened. I took the map out of the hold to show Chi' who was wondering if we were in the right location, and when he gave it me back we transitioned over on the very next time...? Presumably because it was in my backpack then.

I didn't get any screenshots of this fight, as I was too busy running about trying to stay alive; in particular it took me nearly 10 minutes to take a Bonded Soul down... there was some peculiar magic going on there! I think some of our team got a Corgul's Sash and the book? Nothing for me at that point!

Then we fought Charybdis; and the science continued! Morgana bought the oracle she won from me at a recent auction, and we tried them both. I let her use it first, as it was her first try, and I was expecting mine to then pick up her placing, but it didn't, it generated it's own (On the other side of the server, by Vesper, so it wasn't even close). After leaving Corgul's isle... we sailed straight back into Corgul's isle, as her Charybdis spot was right on one of the borders! Oh dear... Pulling out again, I sailed us around the edges and back into position. Putting Morganna's Oracle into my Beetle, I baited my hook and cast on her spot... nothing, no Bubbles message, just a fish. Which proved that you can have multiple Charybdis active at once, and it's tied to the Oracle itself. I put mine on the beetle and took hers out; and pulled Charybdis on the first try... who then killed my beetle, and me! At which point I panicked, because I realised my Oracle was now on the beetle corpse of course, where Insurance wouldn't save it!

I got it back, and we had a long, push filled fight, at one point I thought we were going to drop back in to see Corgul yet again as we got shoved all the way to where his island was, but fortunately it had decayed by then. Another lesson learned, make sure the two aren't close, or if they are, the Island decays! As the recent Ask And Answer revealed, only the fisherman gets a reward from that, which I still think is silly; it was a duplicate Good Regeneration set of arms, same as I got from the last event I think. People didn't even keep their fish steaks! Lovely lovely fish steaks, full of omega 3, just abandoned!

No screenshots again, as I was still focused on keeping the event running, and not dying too much! I then did emergency repairs and sent the ship sailing towards Serpents Hold once more. Problem! Only the GRASS parts are classed as land, so I had to sail into the dock to repair. And here I must apologise to many of you who wondered what happened; I didn't mean to leave you there, but it took quite a while to find where white nets were able to be cast, and then when we did, it took ELEVEN NETS to summon him. One net was donated by A Drunken Sailor; and as I promised, I donated that cast to him!

And I was particularly lucky in the casting, because we got the Leviathan every single time. Someone else, I didn't quite catch who, cast two nets within quick succession, and we were fortunate in that both of those were Leviathan too. Two Osiredon didn't bear thinking about! I don't know if he was as lucky as I was but... well, see for yourself ;)

Yes, that's the fourth artefact dropping in a row; Seahorse, Seahorse, Blaze Of Death (halberd) and the Iolo's flute. I hope I found everyone whose nets they dropped on to give them the Artifact; one seahorse came on my final net, the next went to Morganna who donated 2, the Iolo's flute to Max (I think it was? he donated two maps as well) and the blaze no one seemed to want so I took that home too.

But still... ELEVEN damn nets at 120 fishing! It's supposed to be 1 in 4 for Osiredon, so I really do hope you lot were as lucky as I was for casting; I didn't fight the Leviathan, I just ran off and was usually killed anyway, he he. I did hear someone got a rope, ooooooh a rope!

And then, finally... there he was. Egan donated two more nets after we ran out yet again, and Osiredon at last deigned to appear. And following the revealed theme of the evening, he taught us a few lessons too! The first one being, DONT TRY AND SUMMON HIM WITH A SHIP ONLY HALF REPAIRED! He sunk us just a few ship lengths from the shore, which quickly proved a diasaster as we couldn't move and his parasitic eels covered the decks. I took to running into the melee and shouting "GHOSTIES COME FRONT/GHOSTIES COME REAR" depending on what was clear and then going back to ressurect and heal people. But then I had an idea! Except! Good old Enhanced Client. It crashed twice due to memory leaking, but before it even did that, I tried to find the Tillerman to do another emergency repair, except it couldn't be seen! Maybe it was too dangerous and he'd leapt overboard, but Phineas told me it was clearly visible. Except, to me... it wasn't? I wasn't even picking up the "Arrr! We Be Scuttled!" in chat...

Fortunately, my first death to Scalis reset the graphics (???) and I found her again, she was stood where that corpse with the book was. There were so many corpses though, SO MANY! So I tried to do Emergency Repairs and move us that last gasp to land... except as soon as they were selected, he'd instantly break the ship and cancel them again. I didn't realise he could do that, grrrr. I tried to be clever and moved the Tillerman to the front, only Ralan decided now would be a good time to stand on her, and have a cornetto. Fortunately he moved when I shouted at him, and then Osiredon killed him and took his cornetto. Ha! Then I waited until Osiredon started moving and quickly triggered the repairs and ordered us forward. It didn't last long, but we got a few squares each time... but it ate all our resources, about 2000 wood and 1000 cloth and we still weren't home to Serpents Hold!

During a lull in the fighting, I thought I would take a screenshot for our retiring EM, EMile Layne. I took a book along to the event so people could sign it there too ;) The collected remembrances I've been able to get so far will go to EM Adris next time I see him, and I'll copy them into the thread elsewhere shortly...

Hopefully he'll approve of the memorial mass slaughter involved... admittedly it wasn't a Guardian Osiredon, but considering the last one was a Guardian Slasher, I wouldn't have put it past him, the rascal...

And then; mutiny! Cheeky, downright mutiny! We saw Snorri Sturluson (sp?) sailing away on a rowboat! The swab! He was leaving us in our moment of peril! I hurled abuse upon him, and even ate the rim of my pirate hat out of frustrated terror! Abandoned, we fought on... and yet I was wrong about Snorri, he came back with his own ship to box Osiredon in. And then I promptly crashed after sneaking another repair and movement forward. I think Snorri's ship helped alot, as Osiredon lost health much more quickly after that, possibly because he didn't move about as much, and couldn't get to the rear of the ship where the raised castle puts you out of range if using melee.

What treasures did he have? What wonderful rewards?

TEN WHOLE ARROWS!

And some rubbish. And Barney apparently being chastised by a GM in chat as an added bonus. Hurrah! I gather Ragnar (Sp?) got the Moonblade which he tried to give me, but I rejected it; I hope it'll be a lovely momento for him, and besides I got the seahorse I'd always wanted earlier anyway, so I had been lucky enough... (I'd given the rest to the net donaters by now as you can see) It seemed to be a day of luck for me in fact, as I sold a fishing 120 Power Scroll to A Drunken Sailor earlier, and he'd gone training it and got a Bikini too! Ladies, if you want to be lucky too, just come and rub yourselves on meeeeee :p

Finally clear of Osiredon, we could repair and limp back to Serpents Hold. I hope you all had a great time; we'll be able to repeat the marathon again as my recent luck on summoning Charybdis meant I only used 2 bait (and 1 was a test of the wrong oracle) so I still have 12 left... although I hear Morganna is thinking of a pirate hunting session next, with ammo provided! Keep watching the seas!

Oh! And I almost forgot! That last white net is the second of Egan's... if you read this, do come get it back ;)

What a FANTASTIC evening , with a lovely team o' brave fighters also lovely healers ! So THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!

Someone said : events like these can cost alot. Yes, that's true. But when you see some folks having fun...who care about gold aka gp ? I don't ! Just i'm happy to see players having fun ehe :)

Seriously NO ONE can compete and beat Nemo on stuff like the one we did, once again, today. It's just fantastic to see him running everywhere, screaming short and focusseds orders also with a perfect "sailors" slang ! The "scenic" aspect is always nice and very fun so, for those who unfortunately wasn't there..you can't miss the next one !

I know i already said that but still : Thanks to those who joined and Nemo who always toss me in the air YARRRGH I mean he give some nice tips and hints so that's why i'm more than happy to help on these events !

Aye, Aye, as Nemo said i have in mind a Pirates spanking event and, as we had a lil chat for it, i will work hard to craft as many cannons ammo as i can...sooo...be ready for a massive WAR against those nasty pirates !

"Till the very next time"

Yarr !

P.S. I'm really sorry for Ralan and his cornetto.

:p

Speaking of Cannon... I forgot to ask; did someone mysteriously place one on Morganna's ship? She's convinced she didn't put it there, and I don't think I did... not unless I'd had too much rum earlier and forgot!
