An Error Has Occurred.....

An error has occurred in the synchronization between the login servers and this world. Please close you client and try again.


So, it verifies the account. You get to choose the shard you want to log into and then this message pops up. No choice but to close the client, restart it and try again.

Anyone else getting this message? Anyone know what causes it (if it could be on my end)?

Just aggravating to have to shut down 6 or 7 times and restart the client to be able to play. Especially annoying if you have to switch chars for a couple minutes.

This occurs when my Isp is being worked on or severe weather has affected the tele lines..
Only thing you can do when you get disconnected is restart get the sync message and restart once more to get back in.

It happens on Tuesday a lot now (The Login Server maint. day, up til about 9Am EST or so) I have never closed out the client & restarted it, just retype in PW & go. I have done this many times (esp Tue Am's now as of late) & there is no difference in game play.

It is just kind of odd. I never get the option of going back to the screen to type in the password and account name. It just hangs at the error. If I hit the x on the error, it still just sits there forcing me to restart the client.

While I am typing this from the road, this hotel seems like a pretty solid connection.
Using Speed Test, it shows a solid 3 M down and 1/2 M up. Tested to both East coast and west coast servers.

Using Ping Test, I checked 8 servers. 0% packet loss to all. The ping did vary a bit, as it would, going to the different servers, but the jitter was consistently under 5 ms, and generally 2ms to all servers.

Using UOTrace, I checked 4 different shard servers and they were all pretty consistent. 15 or 16 hops to each one, The worst hop on the path to any of the 4 servers was 132 ms.

Might just be this hotel, I'll have to see if it continues when I get home.

I'm not sure, but I've seen this happen before when a friend and I shared the same account. If I was online and he logged in, I would get the lost con notice and then the sync error.

I had this happen on my main about 4 nights ago. When it did, I went and changed my PW immediately. Could be nothing, but better safe than sorry.

That is the message you get when you login to an account that is already actively logged in.

Not always, for it is happening a lot just before Server Up on Tuesdays now (Log in Server maint Time) more frequently. I have had it happen when I swap to numerous accounts back & forth this msg pops up
