An end to guessing about skill gains

Ok I'm posting this as it seems many folks do not know about this quest/item due to not using the KR client but this one might be worth the read.

There is a quest you receive at the end of the new player tutorial when using the Kingdom Reborn client. You can only get and complete this quest using the KR client.

One of the three possible rewards from this quest (the other two are charged items) is a "Skill Tutor Statuette". This item is extremely handy as it tell you, for any action, how likely you are to gain skill.

Basically you toggle the item on and now every time you swing your sword, or hide or cast a spell you get a message that tells the difficulty. The range looks like this:

Magery: Too Easy
Magery: Very Easy
Magery: Easy
Magery: Optimal
Magery: Challenging
Magery: Very Challenging
Magery: Cannot gain skill

This item can be traded around to other characters and used as needed which is good since it's only one of three possible rewards from the quest so you aren't guaranteed to get it.

Here are two information pages on the quest:

http://www.uoherald.com/darkknight/

http://uo.stratics.com/content/guides/uokr/KRGwentutorialstraticstemplate.shtml

On the stratics page the dark knight info is just below the "Map of Haven".

I would highly recommend obtaining this item for use as it makes training a lot forking easier.

Peace,

Great idea. Not sure I've ever seen one. Might be worth opening up a new account just to take a chance at getting one.

Yes sir I happened to get one with my very first char, an archer, and I just kited the guy around and wasted him. My Archery couldn't have been over 50. I liked the statuette so much I swap it to whatever character I happen to be playing.

Good luck!

I'm seriously thinking about opening up another account just to try getting one.
