Hey guys.

I don't check these boards too often anymore, nor do I log on in game that frequently. I have two accounts and they are both fully subscribed to "The Sims Online". When I checked on my subscription page, it says that i'm registered to The Sims Online but "Not yet registered" to EA-Land. What does this mean? What should I do?

The reason I ask this is because on one of my accounts, I cannot play all the previously created avatars. The only one I can play is the main sim, the rest that I already have on the account are grey and when I mouse over them it says "You have exceeded your avatar limit".

I apologize if this isn't in the correct place to ask this...once again, I haven't been on these boards in a while.

Hi, I run XP so all of this may be of no help at all but here is what "strangely enough" works perfect for me and I have never had a problem with it.

Screen resolution is: 1280 by 1024

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOPatch\TSO.exe" -w

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOClient\TSOClient.exe" -w "-CSCity:EA Land"

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOClient\TSOClient.exe" -w "-CSCity:Test Center 3"

My main target line may be different because I installed the game from my original CD. All you would have to do is add the ending.

This works perfectly for me and gives a nice sized window to play other accounts, which I do. I have been told that because of my screen resolution I don't need the " -w" so I have subsequently removed it on all 3 and still have perfect play. Hope it helps.

Edited to add below:

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOPatch\TSO.exe"

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOClient\TSOClient.exe" "-CSCity:EA Land"

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOClient\TSOClient.exe" "-CSCity:Test Center 3"

Click on the first shortcut to update the game and choose where you want to go EA Land or TC3. Click on the second or third shortcut depending on where you are going. Example I have say 3 accounts, I use the first shortcut to update and start the game and also choose where I'm going with account #1. Then say I have chosen to go to TC3, then I click on the third shortcut for accounts #2 and #3 to go to TC3. Wallah...all three accounts will open to TC3.

Hope I didn't confuse you. Hope this helps.

Same here...my paid accts still say not registered for EA Land. I also get the avatar limit error unless I log in using the patch. If you do a search there is a whole thread on here somewhere in regards to the avatar limit error.

ooops sorry, I meant I get the error IF I log in using the patch, but client works fine.

Mine did the same thing until I went to my account and canceled it, then I opened it again as a paid subscriber. With in a few hrs it was a premium account. Hope this helps. Actually I had to do this with 3 of my accounts. The others have always been active and paid.

All TSO accounts will eventually be transfered to the EA-Land account. But until they get that set up, we are fine on the TSO accounts.

Make sure that your payment information is current and correct, and follow the advice on which shortcut you are using, then if you are still having problems, call Customer Service to make sure EA has your billing correct.

All other things being correct, having only the primary avatar playable and all others greyed out, would be what you would see with an Premium account that has been reduced to a Free Player account.

According to Lee in the Technical Advice forum, the most common reason for the non-playable, "greyed-out avatar" problem is an outdated or broken patcher. The most common way to fix that is to patch into TC3 if you normally play in EAL, or patch into EAL if you normally play in TC3. This generally forces the patcher to update itself. Otherwise, if that doesn't work, making the patcher "attempt to repair the game installation" may fix the problem.

Lastly, if none of those work, you may need to go to your EA account settings, unsubscribe from TSO, then resubscribe again, re-entering your billing info. This is particularly true for those who have subscribed but are still showing as being in a trial period, or for those who have not updated their billing information in a good, long while.

but will you get that "exceeded the avatar limit" if that is the case? Also..I'm a little hesitant to cancel all my paid accounts and then resubscribe because with my luck my computer will crash or my internet will go down just that second and right behind it they will be handing out the amnesty awards to the premium accts!! LOL
