Altering Items

[Driven Insane]

Can someone point me to where I can do some reading to learn about altering items for gargoyle's to wear?

I tried altering some items in game, but it kept saying "this item cannot be altered". Not sure what items can be altered, etc.

They can't wear headpieces, gorgets, or gloves, for one. They CAN get earrings and necklaces with stats on them, though. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone, as I only grew wings a week ago.

Does anybody know what can be altered? Is it only freshly made, no mod items that then need to be imbued?

I just hit 120 Imbuing (yeah me!) and changed my character into a gargoyle. Of course my awesome 40 lmc, 100 lrc, etc, etc suit is now sitting in a bag since I can't wear most of it ;-/
