Alignment for factions.. An idea, would it work?

Mmkay.. So this is a idea I actually got from another game, but a system like this would prevent a lot of griefing in factions..

So when you join a faction, you have a alignment score, this ranged from -100 to 100, and when you join a faction, you have a neutral alignment, if you kill your own faction members, this gives you a negative alignment with your faction, allowing your own faction members and faction guards attack you on sight, because you are a "murderer" the only way to get back a positive alignment would be to kill enemy faction members.. With a positive alignment, you receive greater benefits from being in a faction, similar to how a faction rank gives you benefit....

This is probably how normal alignment in the game should work..

Interesting Idea, I assume to solve the pets...

I would disallow factions to be able to kill the same faction unless your in the same guild. Problem is a coup d'etat is impossible without voting numbers.

Thoughts......
Sparing - negative alignment for friendly sparing battles.

General attacking - Red line assist but not hitting kill shots

Faction Voting System - some faction leaders refuse to pass "responsibilities" and work in the faction system. A potential coup to kill the voting population of a faction would be even more difficult.

Faction Guards - Faction guards suck, a negative alignment faction member could flatten the guards to grief easily.

Items - Having a positive alignment to wear items would be a good idea.

I can't see a benefit of this for anything other than the pet trouble with factions. Though I feel the ability of pets being able to attack same faction members outweighs the negative impact caused by griefers attacking same faction members. (went through this problem after the recent faction updates). Secondly the current murder system seems to handle everything but the pets quite well.
