you put it between tags, like you would with img or url. use 'code'

How to do the code box....

First of all - start or edit) your post/reply.

If not already in advanced mode (I think it might default to advanced when editing - not sure), click the "Go Advanced" button next to the submit reply button, to go into replies (for your original posts, as opposed to replies, you can set your account in the User CP to always start new posts in Advanced mode).

Now, the toolbar in the posting window has a lot more options, including justifications, indenting, Lists, smilies/emoticons, and more.

For the Code Box, there is the "#" symbol. Click that to make the Code tags, then paste in between the tags (or highlight the text to be put into the box, and click the # button, for editing a post or sticking otherwise already-entered text into one).
