After DF, MO and others failed to produce a UO type theme, here is hope...

there is a new game that looks like it's FINALLY doing what others have failed when they promised a sandbox we all love and miss (pre AoS).

The name may be a bit misleading, but just take two seconds to look at the front page:

I hope that actual customizeable houses are on the table at some point in the games life. I can fully understand not from launch or even in the first 6-8 months but perhaps a year or 2 down the line after it launches they'll have managed to find someway to make customized housing a reality in that tasty looking 3D environment. Oh, and being able to put a gate around your place, whether it be wooden stone, barred etc. Ok I'll scurry off and leave this topic alone for now.. But I'll be back!

Housing Models and System

UO will always be unique. The thing is if players are looking for a better UO you wont find it. Same for players looking for the better WoW. Not going to find it. Each game has its pros and cons and that is many mnay titles out there. I prefer great graphics and great content which are out there. Some prefer lesser graphics and great content. Each his own I guess.

If a player wants to find a better game that is like the game they are playing they are better off staying with the original game. I am impressed with the video above but the issue with most of UO player base they "prefer" the 2d client and not all the fancy newer graphics. No matter how sandboxxy a game can be if it does not have that 2d client it just doesn't float with the community. Now I disagree since I prefer better graphics lol but that is the bottom line when it comes tothe majority that loves UO.

I would love to see a brand new true UO2 with updated graphics in the future. Just do it while I am still young and all
