After 15 years of playing I can not believe

How excited I was at playing around with locking stuff down in my castle courtyard.
It never mattered one way or the other to me BUT I now understand why so many wanted
this.

After 15 years, castle owners can use their courtyards...

yet yarn still does not stack coming off the the spinning wheel.

It's a Siege world problem. We can't buy cloth off NPCs.

I've known a Castle where stuff has been locked down in the courtyard for years. Of course, it's owned by the "normal" player character of a GM though.

Does this apply to keeps as well with those wasted spaces on the bottom level?

Unfortunately not. And also an unfortunate side effect of the magic redirection if recalling to a house blocked spot, the runes to the hidden areas of the keep no longer work (We have a keep in our guild town, where I deposited some non decayed benches etc. for deco in that zone and used to be able to recall to that area).
