Hi, was just wondering if being unable to imbue Aegis of Grace is an oversight or working as intended? The mods on it are following

Resisting Spells +10
Self Repair 2
DCI 20%
10-9-7-7-15

Can't add any more mods to it, can't modify any of the resists.. basically can't do anything to it. Is there any proper reason for this? It is, after all, one of the very few artifacts worth imbuing for mages..

Intended. The item has 8 mods on it as is.

It simply wont let you.
Because its already got too many mods.
Even if you drop the self repair which makes it a 7 mod item.
And the limitation on mods of an imbuable item is 5.

i guess the coding doesnt allow for the self repair to be dropped.

so it just see's it as a mod, that's it.

it would be nice if you could drop it though. with imbuing that would be a sweet item to work into a suit.

The Aegis of Grace, one of the most underrated arties in the game. It's imbued value is actually slightly higher than the Fey Leggings that everyone seems to think are so cool. It all depends on whether you are running a temp with resist or not, and whether you can use the extra skill points. Even if it didn't have too many mods, the most you could add would be a few points in resists.

It doesn't have 8 mods it has 5. Resist spells, DCI, repair, phy & energy. I don't think the 9,7,7 count as a property. Could be wrong since you can't even get that far to know for sure. Two mods though don't appear normally on armor so that generally means the item will be beyond the cap.

Intensity is at 517 so it's already over the cap. If you try to mod one of the existing property lower to make some room, you get the message "the item can't be imbued with any more properties."

BTW, I use the Aegis of Grace on two mages. I also think it's an underrated piece.

Unfortunately the resists are not base resists. Circlets have 1/5/2/2/5 as base and dragon helm has 3/3/3/3/3 as base. So each of the 5 resist is boosted.

So it's still a 7 property item that disqualifies it from being imbue-able.

Circlets are automatically mage armour

So that property should be free. It's originally a circlet, they just added the alternate dragon helm graphic later on. So I believe they based all the stats off the circlet for the dragon helm version.

Ah, that could very well be correct. I didn't realize the base mods for circlets was soo low. I seen that some players craft circlets with runics but I never have.

Because just like previous poster has answered those figures are NOT base resist.

If you are not counting the self repair, Aegis of Grace is still indeed a 7-mod non-imbuable item.

Now of course I realize that imbuing value doesn't tell the whole story, as you have to get pieces that work well with your template and other pieces in your suit, but it still has been an interesting process - spreadsheets, a True Nerd's Holy Bible...

The Cavorting Club is just about what you would expect it to be, utter crap, with or without the resists...

For a more casual (non-PvP) character, one can hit max DCI with Aegis of Grace, Fey Leggings, and a Quiver of Infinity - especially useful for an archer, since he can't use a shield, and would probably not mind properties other than DCI on his weapon and jewelry.

You can argue that a non pvp archer wouldn't "need" DCI as not many things attack at range... Helps, not "needed"
