Ok now that I'm all geared up, and at about 50 ish with my various skills in Magery. Any advice from the veterns on some of the best quests, monster areas, etc for both fun and training.

Id recommend despise dungeon in trammel - its good for training characters as its starts with lizardmen on top, ettins and earthies in middle and ogers, trolls and oger lords on bottom. Plus ability to drop virtue artifacts for hunting there.

One good way to train up magery is to find or buy a mage weapon, and use that when you fight. Yes, it will lower your casting skill by the amount of the mage penalty, but you get gains just by hitting stuff! :D

Awesome...I like both. I'm going to try out despise something today or tomorrow at the latest.

I've heard the same thing about the mage weapon. I've heard it is better to use one that lows your mage rather than one that has no penatly. Despise works well and so does Shame.

Good luck :)

whether to use a penalty one or a no-penalty one depends on the skill you need for your target creature. If your magery skill is 75, and you're fighting something that gives its best gains in the 50s, then you need to use the weapon with a penalty. If the critter gives best gains in the 80s, use the no-penalty one until you hit the 90s, then switch to the one with penalties.

BTW, If you want a Spell channeling (-22 I think) mage weapon butcher knife that's 100% poison damage (it's useless for golem training because of it having "Hit Harm 38%), just yell and I'll meet you in Luna.

You might want to check the contents of the white chests in the central room to the Luna Vendors/Banker.

I and others have been dropping things in the chest.

I routinely drop any item I feel is a good+ item but outside any Character Template I will use OR is redundant OR I have sufficient quantities of better items.

The majority what I drop in them are Rings, Bracelets and Weapons.

Lately the items have tended to come from Dragons, White Wyrms, Greater Dragons, Ogre Lords, Rune Beetles, Rotting Corpses and Arch Liches. There are the odds and end items that come from Mobs that want to harass me for some reason or another.
