Hi,

I have a couple of new characters on Siege, one of which is training tailoring.

I've read the stickies and im currently up to making robes for my gains, but cloth is such a pain to come by, im wondering if in general it is quicker to make leather items (at around the same % success rate as robes) because it is quicker to gether...

I trained tailoring on europa where resource wasnt an issue so this is a new dilema for me! I have no idea of the value of either commodity on Siege but i guess the training guides are written assuming that cloth is the cheapest of the two (as per a regular shard)

You can collect cotton in moonglow, and sheer sheep in yew/jelhom/Delucia.

You can get cloth very quickly doing that.
Also: join NEW :)

Welcome Dave. Aye, regular leather is pretty easy to come by. You might want to save the cloth for sell or bandages. A bolt of cloth normaly sells for around 350 gold.

Thanks guys,

I assumed that the sheep pens are generally quite busy but maybe ill give it a go there. I just figure that knowing my timing ill spend all the time farming the stuff and someone will come and kill me! lol

I spent almost the whole of the first month on the shard living in the inn in Delucia.

Sheep to shear, cows to kill, mountains to mine, trees to chop, all in the guard zone. Also tailor and smith shops to collect and fill bods with - you can get all your gains filling bods up to 70, nice and easy and get paid as you do it.

Depending on if your gonna stay or not, PM me and ill hook u up with a house. Ill be back at 9est. If your one of those types of overly emotional players who are gonna quit after getting griefed for a week or two dont bother, nonetheless , welcome to siege and lemme know if you want that hookup. If you got some cloths and leathers ill take that in trade for the plot

I'm offering you good advice as well, cause if you choose to ignore my offer, I may take it personal, and see to it that your farmed resources never see the light of day. You get the picture?

Well, since you can only obtain parasitic plants at GM Luberjacking, I guess that gets you off the hook for now. But keep in mind, that when a Vet ask a favor of you, you need to be very careful of how you respond, for your choice of action could change your entire Siege experience. Just some food for thought.

Hi, thanks for the pointers.

I currently have houses on another shard on both my accounts so im not looking to place at the moment - thanks for the offers though.

I do plan on sticking around however as im currently bored sh**less on europa and need a new challenge. I can take a few deaths and not take it personally - lord knows i've been handed enough death robes attempting champs etc.

I may well head over to delucia if i can find it, set up camp there for a while. I did spend a little time mining there, but i didnt realise that sheep were there too! thats handy.

Also, im fairly certain that i'd need to have alchemy to make parasitic poison... a skill im not planning to work:(

What kind of quantities to people tend to trade the basic resources in, such as cloth, leather, wood etc? I want to stockpile a bit so i can begin trading at some point but whats the entry level into the market?

Cheers

I can set you up with a home to lock things down at so you can stockpile resources. If you care to be stuck on ice island (assuming you can't gate) I have a keep there with a crafters room all set up that I would be happy to friend you to.

Delucia is a great place to begin harvesting hides, wool, even raw ribs for all the beetle owners beetles to eat. Heck I began my very first ever crafter there in 98 when the lost lands were new, and I still *run* from papua about blindfolded to Delucia as my preferred way to get there after all these years even.

Don't forget that trins. cave passages too or vesper cemetary bank ye stuff, stable ye pet if ya have one then run naked no loss. Unbank em in Deluca.

Cloth bolts net ya 350gp per some will even pay more for bulk bolts of it. Hides too, you can harvest so much to not only up tailoring to ROT, and use far less resources when ya hit ROT, but still have plenty left over to bankroll yourself as well.

Also check out NEW guild be 30 days lots to learn and it is very beneficial for many whom joined it in the past and present.

If ya need tools let me know, I can make ya up some *gm tinker* in the other craft skills. Also if ye are going for tailoring add the arms lore so you leather be worth more when u make up stuff, and begin doing BODS in Delucia soon as ya can do some. gp and more free cloth for ya when ya turn in those lower junk bods.

If you need to sell something, make a post on these forums, it will sell quicker. Don't sit around luna bank too much, you will probably die. Cloth always sells good(350gp per bolt or 50 cloth), so do arrows and bolts(10-15 gp per is a good price).
