Added weaving...got a question

I have a spellweaving mage that I've been working on. Here is where she is right now...

Meditation 115
Magery 106.2
Eval 105.2
Spellweaving 104.6
Resist 100
Focus 100

The rest of the points are in Inscription (50) and dropping on other skills. My question is: Why do I not see more templates with focus on them? Is the increased mana regen rate not as good as some other skill? Please help me understand.

Lack of skill points probably main reason. Others can get to high MR with med and suit so no need of focus. Focus used more for non-mage templates where you might not be in medable armor. Lots of contributing factors.

Hell even with your template if your not PvPing or travelling Fel lots I would drop focus and resist and add necro/SS.

I forget the formulas does inscription even add to damage if its not GM??

Focus is brilliant for training. But after you get to a certain point, something has to go. With MR items and high meditation. Focus isn't really needed. And for someone running wraith form, focus really isn't needed.

For example, I have 10MR on my suit, 40% LMC and just spent a dismally long time casting spells at Dark Fathers and the spawn around it. In the entire time, I didn't run out of mana for more than 5 seconds, and that 5 seconds was at the end when I was chain casting word of death. So focus wouldn't really be an improvement over what I have.

Many don't pick focus because focus is more based for stamina regen, not mana. Sure, it has some mana, but not enough to waste 120 skill points for it. Its good to put if you have any left over skill points from your templat, but at 120 focus, you only get an extra 6 mana regen (plus 12 stamina regen) and for 120 skill, 6 mana regen is kinda not worth it.

If your a mage, having high meditation and mana regen suits and even necros with lich/wraith forms, etc usually have plenty of mana regen. Plus I think theres still a buggy cap for mana regen which seems to come up every so often.

I do not intend to do much PvP. I do, however plan on going to Fel for champs (with groups, of course), so I would think the ability to defend myself is a must.

That said, since I created this character, I've thought of adding Necro/SS. Haven't done it yet because this is my first time playing with Spellweaving, and I'm trying to learn how to play it. To be honest, this is the first character I've played that uses a mage template. Magery had always been a secondary skill for me. With so much to learn, I figured that adding Necro/SS would be a bit overwhelming for me. I am interested in it, but I've not yet looked at what a decent template would be if I were to engage anyone in PvP.

Inscription was added to my character when I made her. I got the noob quest to get the spellbook and haven't used the skill since. It is not on my character for the damage bonus. If it doesn't get stoned for a later date, I'll just drop it completely.
