About the Lag and extending this event (to the players)

Hi Everyone.

I'm writing this post because of all the petty, rude and what not posts on these forums. I too am experiencing bad lag and have been for over a week now.

I really think it's unfortunate that this has happened especially in the middle of this awesome event, but these kinds of things DO happen. Remember 2 years ago (around this time of year) when we had a very very similar issue? It took a little over a week to fix and for good reasons.

I'm asking the community here to extend some understanding to the Developers as they work through this. Show your support and love for this game by not belittling their efforts, but by encouraging them.

We too, may also get some understanding in return...

Hopefully, the Developers will extend this event for another 2 weeks so those of us who couldn't partake in it... can.


I say this because I too was looking forward to playing UO all week this weekend. I'm just as irritated that I cannot log in and play Ultima Online, the game I love... just as so many of you are.

So, if you are with me on this... please vote in the above poll (it's a petition) to show that we not only love this game, but are looking forward to having fun with this totally awesome event once they clear up the issue for us.

Ahh, good post. I think it would be good to actually get some understanding instead of playing a slanderous blame-game and attacking EA. I like this game, and because of that I would instead want to encourage them, even if their responses to the community are less often than I would like.

on one hand I want it to end so I can focus only on the invasions (I can't knowing I can get spiderwebs and grimoires)

on the other hand, I really wish I could actually kill Sicarii and try for the medium web, cause I can't even move down there most of the time...

But I have no such faith, so go ahead and end it...Don't matter if it ends tomorrow or a month from now, if the lag isnt fixed, it isnt worth playing.

If they do it right they will first investigate the lag issue at hand if turning off the event solves this lag issue then by al means turn it off..extending it isn't gonna make that much of a difference...In my opinion i believe that there servers can't handle every one on at the same time...example i logged on about 3am eastern time (because i couldn't sleep)and the lag wasn't that bad,Hardly noticed only a freeze here and there...not like during the peek hours. Again just my opinion

That's why there is no choice to vote no.
the second choice is probably mandatory so that's why it's there.


Anywho, I'm all for ending it since I can't play much anyway these days with all the lag and i'm looking forward to whatever comes next , but I wouldn't mind 1 extra week if it were lag free.

This may sound like a petty post HOWEVER I think it should be extended for those people who did not get to enjoy the full extent of it. Just because some of you others are bored and done with it and want things to go YOUR WAY or NO WAY, some people didn't even get to do it... so stop being greedy and attempt to think of someone other than yourselves.

I voted yes because I think it should be extended as the situation is not the fault of the players. Can't and don't support the devs or the PR dept on this one though simply because (as usual) there is zero communication on what is happening or what they are doing to fix it.

Nothing on the lag. Nothing on if Halloween is ending for certain or not. Now Trick or Treating is broken. Typical EA/Mythic.

For everyone that voted to end it, mainly due to lag purposes, do you not believe that the DEVs could actually fix something and keep something going?
I mean come on..show a little more faith then that in the game I know many of you played for way too long! It's either that reason, or some of you are just very selfish.

only thing to do with this lag is either raise skills (finally gm'ed armslore and fletching) or whack away on a golem or start new toons on all servers for the Christmas gifts

You're right. And that "fix" also started the problem people were having with getting the spinneret off sicarii. wth kinda fix is that?
like giving someone a vomit inducer because they stubbed their toe.

Well i have just got to the point i just log off. I think if there not fixing it ill just drop accounts and go play WOW. at least they wont let lag like this go on for this long.

I don't care if they extend this event or not. I got the books and talisman I wanted. I wouldn't mind getting another large web, but I'm not sure its worth waiting all day for enough people to gather to kill sicarii and then having to put up with those people's whining about all the times they die. That and the elitist guilds who will not rez you if you do die. Can't wait til I run into one those guys as a ghost... Its a small shard, just a matter of time.
