About the current event.

I hope that Adida can take some constructive criticisms. But before my suggestions I wanted to applaud EA-Mythic for wanting to get involved with events again and it wasn't too bad of an event for her first one. I also wanted to congratulate her for trying to change up the rules to make the event better.

However,

If you noticed the events yesterday, as soon as the chest were dropped half the players just stood around. Why? Because they already came with the items as the lists were the same.

Had you created the items and spread them throughout the land but only allow 5 submissions then would have been better. You didn't have to stick around but to come back the following week to give the prizes. You would have had half the shard hunting all over the land for hours-days. You can create items that won't decay can't ya? I've seen those items created in the past.

The hunted items could have been speically marked and the prize a differnt item so that those who ddin't get to submit their find, could at least keep a memory of some sort. This was also done in the past with the EM program and received a lot of positive responses.

This is by all means not a complaint but just suggestions to make future events better.

I have read through the feedback on the boards regarding the event. So I have actually made 2 modifications to the event itself.

1. Players can only win on 1 account period. So if you won on Europa you can’t win on any other shard.
2. I will wait 15 minutes before placing the submission chest. So that if players retrieved a list and are sitting their waiting with the items in hand they will not have an advantage.

In light of these changes to improve the event to make it fair for everyone I will be running this event again Thursday 21st (europa only) at the same time. This is the only time I will be able to rerun the event due to the changes.

I also want to include there are multiple lists. So I will be rotating those more frequently.

Also, the event is meant for people on their individual shards. If you want the rewards, I'm afraid you'll have to earn them or buy them from the winners instead of trying to memorize lists!

Oh, and just a note, Adida has almost as much control over <font color="brown">fire</font> as I do. Beware her wrath and enjoy the hunt!

I've been off playing WoW for the last couple months, but... what? If I read this right, you're running some sort of scavenger hunt... but the list of what it requires is public knowledge prior to the event? Are you kidding me?

She was also giving 10-15 minutes to obtain the items, all of which were simple things you could buy from npcs for under 500 gold total. Even if you had no prior knowledge of what types of things were on the lists, you could run on foot from the event location to a town, buy all the things, and run back before the turn in time began. The people who prepared in advance had little benefit.

can someone that works for EA please explain to me the policy on validity for submitting items? ok i won on one shard, and then tried to win on another shard with a different account and a different credit card with a character that was not new and they said my entry was invalid, can you please explain this? thank you

also they used different emails, and on lake austin just now it was EXTREMELY unfair, they said one of the things was a soulstone, so i give the token in and it keeps rejecting it, i would have definitely been one of the 5 people to get it in, she did not specifically state NOT THE TOKEN the fragment itself! or either should have been accepted, i dunno about anyone else but i dont think that was fair in any way, a lot of people tried to give the token in as well

First...appreciate the effort to do the event.

But...for the future :

I can't believe the amount of naivety that went into thinking even a handful of fixed lists wouldn't be abused. People want prizes, badly, and will do anything to give themselves an edge.

And she had the exact same problem we always do when we try to hold events. Sometime back in the past someone mucked about with the chat code and seriously limited how far away you can hear people in a crowded area. Yelling and whisper were also broken...though it seems whisper maybe got fixed since then, not entirely sure.

When she was standing up on the gazebo thing and giving out instructions...even people sitting on the benches couldn't hear her. This is why comm crystals were created. Ya'll should ensure that events either have comm crystals or that yelling actually works and the person holding the event always yells.

So, you ADMIT you tried to circumvent the rules about winning once? It didn't say one per account, or one per CC - the rules said a person could only win once. For example, if you ever listen to the radio, radio stations repeatedly broadcast their general rules as something like: one winner per household in a 60 day period; household must be within broadcast area; winners can only win once in any promotion; etc. No difference. That you openly admit to violating the rules - then breaking them again on OTHER shards, should be grounds for you to be booted with all your accounts.

Odds are, they have an internal mechanism in place similar to MYUO, that shows whether or not an account has logged in much over the last 30 or 60 days on a given shard. It doesn't matter how old the character or account is - if they see it's only logged in for a few minutes back on 2/14 for the gifts, and then for the event today, with zero playing time since the last gifts, I'm pretty sure they would consider you to NOT be a valid resident of the shard, for the contest.

And, the book said fragment, not fragment token. A token is something a resident of the shard is likely to have (or could get VERY easily from a friend) - not someone who just "happens" to have a character present. It's interesting to note that the five winners on LA all were regular, long-time, players on the shard (even the two that I've not played with personally, I've seen around the shard at non-event times) - at least TWO of which didn't even know the event was going to happen until minutes prior.

I really can't believe you just posted that.

It was bad enough you came to LA trying to win a flower on the shard you don't play on, but then you complain loudly and repeatedly about the token (she said soulstone fragment... a token is not a fragment... it's a token. Really now?), and then you have the audacity to come on the forum and admit to circumventing the rules to try to win on an off shard and complain again!

You won a flower on another shard, be grateful, many didn't even win one.

Thanks to Adida for putting on the event. It was almost like we had the EM events back. It was nice to at least see a real person there explaining things and answer questions!
