[Mining] ? About skill level & colored ore.

If a miner has and is locked at 70 skill, will the miner still get colored ore at locations that would/might otherwise be a higher skill level color?

So would this miner get all dull copper and shadow iron in the same percentage he/she would otherwise get at GM and all colored ore combined?

Or, if a spot rolls golden but skill is only 70, the miner will mine only iron?

Nope - if you can't mine the ore that the site is, you get Iron only.

The exception is using the special tools (PT/GPA). You can get one level higher (copper from a shadow spot at 70 skill, for example), and if you get an ore elemental digging, it's the color the ore WOULD have been elevated to, so long as your mining is high enough level (65) to get colored ore.

Technically, you could mine verite and valorite spots with a 65 miner and gargoyle pickaxes, and get valorite ore elementals with 25 valorite ore in each - but all the MINED ore will be iron.

Basara, I knew I could count on you.

I felt I probably already knew the answer was no but I figured I'd ask before actually training a miner to 70.0 skill for myself.

Too bad. It would be nice to only get a lot of dc and shadow when I need it.
